I just got my septum done about three days ago, and the jewelry keeps moving up. Not because of swelling, I suppose, but the actual jewelry. When I pull it down, it'll start moving up again, even when I'm not making facial expressions. A piercer (not mine) thinks it may be to close to the cartlidge and that could be causing it. Or something, it really isn't crooked at all from what I feel, I'll have to wait when swelling goes fully down so what else could it be? A crappy cell phone picture, sorry. http://i38.tinypic.com/ny8txi.jpg
Put a retainer in; keep it flipped up for at least a month. My piercer [who I fully and completely trust] did mine with a retainer [looks like a staple], told me that keeping it flipped up until it healed would control the migration almost completely, and sure enough, mine's straight as an arrow.
