Age:17 Gender:female Sexual orientation:straight Ethnicity:Caucaisan Location:Idaho Marital/Relationship Status: In a relationship What is happiness, in your opinion? I think that happiness is making the most out of life and letting yourself, learn and experience and feel. Are there certain steps one must take to obtain happiness? i think that happiness is definitly something that you have to want for yourself, happiness doesn't always just happen for people, you have to think to yourself in times when you are down that there is a reason for everything and that you are going to be alright in the end. you can't let the little things get to you either, sometimes you just got to let things roll of your back. Would you consider yourself happy? i consider myself very happy, i mean we are on this beautiful earth and we come in contact with all these beautiful people. i have my days and my moments where things seem so glum and i just have to think to myself tht everything will be ok, and that i can't let that one incident keep me down. What makes you happiest? i'm happiest when i'm able to enjoy the simple things, like taking walks, cuddling with the boy, playing with my puppy, reading, watching rainstorms, meeting new people, or getting to go to class and learn new things, those are all things make me happy on a regular basis. How happy are you compared to your friends? i don't think i caould compare my happiness to a friends happiness, happiness is something with in a person. and i don't think it would be fair for to judge how happy my friend is compared to me, but i think that my friends are happy people. i try to surround myself with happy people. it's easier to be happy that way. Compared to your parents? i think that my parents, aren't really all that happy with life, and that's why i think of happiness the way i do because being around my parents, sometimes it's hard to be happy because of their negitivity, not toward me necessarily, but just toward life and eachother. Compared to your grandparents? my grandparents on my mom's side believe that happiness comes from being wealthy and having money. and my grandma on my dad's side believes that all the simple things in life are what make you happy. maybe that's where a lot of my idea of happiness came from. Compared to “the average American”? i think the average american doesn't take the time to find happiness. they are searching for it in the wrong places, they think it comes from money and material things. but i can't compare myself to them. Do you think everyone can obtain happiness?:i definitly believe that every single person on this earth has the ability to obtain happiness. Do you suffer from any physical diseases? no, i don't and i'm thankful for that everyday If yes, what are they? Do you think it prevents you from certain things in life? even though i don't suffer from any physical disease, i don't think that diseases prevent people from doing many things in life. i mean i have seen so many cases where handicaped people have taken it upon themselves not to let their restrictions stop them, and whether physically disabled or not, everyone is still capable of love and sometimes, that's all you need in life. Do you suffer from mental illness (depression, anxiety, schizophrenia…)? i have never been diagnosed with any mental illnesses, but my mom has and sometimes i wonder if i may have those same illnesses. Do you think it prevents you from certain things in life? no, i am always able to talk/think myself back to a happy state of being, as hard as it may be sometimes. Are you seeking treatment for either a physical or mental illness (therapy, medication…)? IF YES: How long and is it helping?: Have you ever experienced a period of pro-longed unhappiness?i did, when i was in middle school, i was going through a lot of family issues and i was extremley depressed. How long did it last? it probably lasted about 2-3 years How did it change you? (eating habits, general life outlook, interests…) i think it was a lot of things, the biggest one being my how i saw life. and then the people i was with all the time How did you “come out of it?”: one day i decided that i didn't have to feel those horrible feeling anymore, and changing my outlook on life was a very long process, because it was hard to change my thoughts and my feelings. What, do you believe, triggered this unhappiness? problems within my family. Is it normal for people to be unhappy?: i think it's very normal for people to be unhappy, but they don't have to be that way, and i think it's a shame that not everyone can see that they have the ability to change their unhappiness. Are you comfortable being unhappy?: not at all, i can't think of anything worse than spending my life being unhappy. In the past 2 weeks, home many days would you consider yourself “unhappy” for most of the day? maybe 1, if even that, honestly. In the past 2 months, how many days would you consider yourself “unhappy” for most of the day? that's a very tough call, not enough days to dwell on and remember What does your ideal life look like? the life i'm living right now, knowing that i can create my own happiness and that i don't need money or material possesions and all the things that i have learned in life, and the beautiful amazing things i have seen. and all the people that i have met that have left an impression on my life. How does your current life compare? Are you satisfied with your current life? yes, very satisfied, i may not have the perfect life, but i love spreading smiles, and i love that i am healthy and that i have a wonderful family and awesome friends. Eliminating all limitations, what changes would you make to your life to make it more satisfying? i wouldn't change a thing about my life personally, but i would love to make an impact and show others that they can find happiness within themselves. hope this is useful :cheers2: peaceful thoughts -ky
