I met Patrick Stewart the other day. He was debating at the Union and sat right in front of me. At which point I came in my pants, must go clean up....
He plays Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek the Next Generation and Professor Xavier in X Men. Shit, I'm a geek....
Star Trek isn't for geeks. It's for gimps. Any self-respecting geek would die of shame if caught watching Shite Trek That's not to say Patty Stewart ain't a fine actor though. Of course us true geeks knew him from his roles in Excalibur and Dune, long before Pants Trek.
wow! i met Bill Bruford, drummer of yes/gong/bruford/king crimson/earthworks where did you meet him?? Jaz
Dune isn't geeky, well i don't know depends how you get into it, if you watch the film first or even worse play the games first then i supose but the books are classics.
p.s. not saying the film or games are bad, they are very cool too. or that there is anything wrong with being a geek, just they won't let me join with them at college 'cause i don't have glasses and have only ever played blood bowl not the real war hammer.
Excalibur..... this brings back an excrutiating memory of sitting watching this film with a friend infront of my parents when i was a wee lad and the full-armour rampant sex scene came on.... silence in the living room... cough.. don't meet anyones eye.... I was at that easily embarrased age.
