What sort of thing grasps your attention in today's shows that come on Cable or T.V.? I am grasped by the relateable factors or the high spirited factors which get me pumped more and more with anticipation. O, and if shows were a date, which show (name(s)?) would you date (come to see) more often?
-Some kind of engaging story line (amazing how many shows fail at this). -The show needs to be clever -Unpredictable, but not over the top like Lost (which I still kind of like) -Witty, sarcastic and, also subtle about the two aforementioned Seinfeld and Curb your enthusiasm are perfect examples. -Pokes fun at media, popular culture and trends, etc Simpsons in its golden age and Daria were perfect at this. Those are four of the best shows ever. Well, Simpsons in its golden age, which would be about season 2/3 until seasons 9/10/11 Characters you can relate too, I suppose. Maybe like Freaks and Geeks or Ugly Betty, to an extent.
I look for relateable story lines as well. I like scripted series (Two and A Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, Gilmore Girls, Numbers). If I'm not watching the news, the shows I watch have to have some sense of humor and/or realism to the story lines.
