best show in recent memory

so what's the best show you've been to lately? for me, i caught toubab krewe on friday night, and it was sick. josh phillips folk revival and corleone opened up for em, which was also stellar. pretty good experience, save for the handful of cookies that were bringin the vibe down. can't wait to catch dubconscious in a bit, also.

 

Top 3 for me this summer were Phish, SCI, Dead....

But other than the obvious, The best of the local bands this summer: Jimkata, Natural Breakdown, Tripping on nothing.

Oh and I also really enjoyed toubab. They were the must see of 2009.

The most recent best show I went to was a local Philly band called Cabinet. They are a bluegrass jamband. The show was at a festival called "meeting of the minds 2." They completely blew my mind. What I was hearing didn't sound like bluegrass at all, It sounded like psychedelic bliss. The jams were so intricate and experimental. The light show was put on by my favorite light production company groovin lumens. They used a projector to shine giant ever changing psychedelic images on the band a stage. It was the best bluegrass show I've ever been too. In my top 20 shows of all time. I saw cabinet twice before this and it was completely different.

 

yeah the krewe is sick. i caught phish in knoxville and at bonnaroo. the knoxville show was superb... definitely eclipsed the bonnaroo performance. lookin forward to dubconscious and telepath in a couple weeks or so.

 

I wish I could have seen the Dead with Garcia.

 

I went to rothbury this summer and the SCI show was sooo much fun much better then the few other times i seen them. Really looking forward to Phish coming to michigan for fall tour opener

 

should be interesting, huh. man i'm tryin to get my shit together to make that one, too.
