A while back swim started listening to some shpongle and a little 1200 micrograms when he smokes DMT. Recently swim smoked without the music and didn't really get any of the closed eye visuals he always gets with the music. Anyone have any ideas as to why?
And also I am curious to know what music other people here use when you smoke, if you use music at all. Swim has decided to never smoke again without the music as the trip was not very good compared to all his other trips.

well i've never done dmt, but on acid listening to phish with my eyes closed can bring some crazy visuals that have never happened on a musicless trip. to me its a form of synaesthesia or like mixing of the sences (either hearing visuals or seeing the music but idk which it would be). it can get pretty crazy though... i cant even imagine what would happen with dmt

everytime i have smoked DMT i havent listened to any music and i always get insane closed eye visuals. Everyone reacts diffrently i guess i would suggest trying it without music, but before smoking meditate for a few minutes and totally clear your mind, you would be surprised how much a diffrence that can make.

Ive only smoked dmt once but I cant imagine listening to music on it cuz when I did it somebody was trying to talk to me and I couldnt understand anything coming out of her mouth, it sounded like another language.

    It's incredible for potentiating sub-ego-death doses. After that point . . . :D

Try playing welcome to the machine by pink floyd while you hit the DMT.
Certainly affected my trip/visuals for the first part of the trip.

When I first tried DMT I put on some classical music once. I noticed the music during the comeup, and it got very strange. But after that, I didn't even notice it.

I haven't tried since then. DMT seems so introverted to me is a way....you go inside and what's outside doesn't matter as much and it potentially distracting.

Swim doesn't find the music distracting at all, It adds so much to the trip that he refuses to smoke without it now.Everything (visuals) flow with the music, and the entity's that have come forward also seem to enjoy it. There was one night when swim tried to switch the music up from the regular shpongle or 1200 micrograms and during this trip swim hit the machine 6 times and had a very intense trip and what appeared to be a very large irritated entity told swim to never come back with that music, It was rather frightening and I have never gone back using that particular music and have also never seen that entity again.
I think what may have happened is I got rather comfortable with the shpongle and the switch up threw me off. Anyway does anyone else have any recomendations?

For some, music is a distraction and too much of this world. It would be unimaginable that music would profoundly affect DMT experiences. But, we're all different ... My friend said that several times (even) Shpongle became annoying deep into the experience. Music may also also increase awareness of time - and who needs that.

Time seems more relative to awareness, and music takes on a new life when I smoke DMT.

I have to listen to electronica music while on psychedelics, it makes my trip one with the music. I feel as if I can control my high with the different types of music and the modd around me if others are embarking on the trip also.

Trance on DMT would probably be pretty ridiculous....think I'd end up tearing off my headphones :).

I can never listen to music while traveling with DMT. It irritates me for some reason. I have to have it SILENT.... Not sure why... But if it is not a natural sound or noise, I can not let go....

I usually have music playing, but once i blast off, the internal hum seems to drown out the music.
