Yes, it certainly is music to anyone's ears to hear someone admit that Pink Floyd is the greatest band ever.

 

I think you guys have valid opinions, but personally. LED ZEPPELIN is the way to go and it will always be that way for me. who wouldnt want to trip out to whole lotta love? like honestly, u cant get anything more hauntingly beautiful that Robert Plant's amazeing singing. Not to mention jimmy pages extreem guitar, better than halen by my standards. and then bono's crazy drums and jpj's bass skills, i mean how could u not like the LED ZEP?

 

Naming the GREATEST band is tough. There are so many greats, many of which have been mentioned. A lot depends on what mood I'm in. I just can't decide, so I better refrain from answering.

 

I didn't know Bono played drums now! hahahaha! Bonham,... Bonham. Like I said before, any suggestion I've made thus far has been a facetious one, as only an idiot would try to point out the "greatest", but I'll tell you, it's certainly not Phish. If you could look at every band that ever existed and pick Phish out of the mix, you're literally bordering on mental retardation.

 

I wouldnt as far to say that picking Phish borders on mental retardation. Maybe if someone picked Styx or some shit you could say that.

The correct answer for the greastest band is-there is none. Not Pink Floyd, the Dead, Zep or anyone.

Dude, Dennis DeYoung could eat Trey alive in the vocal department and Tommy Shaw could burry him on the guitar. Don't bash Styx... don't go down that road! You should have picked Hanson or something as an example. Styx was a bad one to use!

 

are you kidding? the beatles were far from overrated.. they are the reason a lot of the bands you guys are mentioning are even around... inventiveness, creativity, and STUPENDOUS lyrics and they're overrated?!?!!? damn... please don't EVEN go there..

Actually, I agree that the Beatles were overrated (although still talented to an extent), and I laugh when people use that antiquated line of "your band wouldn't be here without the Beatles.", please! My favorite bands wouldn't have been here without the British invasion, the Beatles were not the end-all be-all of the British invasion, or the rock 'N roll take over here in the states. Either way, a lot of my favorite bands are British, and were influenced mainly by bands that were rocking across the Atlantic long before the Beatles ever came into existence.

 

Yeah, seriously ....don't fucking dis Styx. Styx was a prog. rock band of their own. There are a few bands that have their own distinct sound. Styx was one of them. I don't think anyone can compare to DDY's outstanding synth-ability.

Bon Jovi... good guitarist, good drummer, good keyboard player. It's just too bad that the guy they named the band after has to be so terrible at what he does.

No man, he is a good singer, and he is their main song writer, but he has an ego sometimes that can match Axl Rose's.

 

I find him to be monotonous, he seems to sing the same notes in every song, but, it's your thing. I think I favor Bon Jovi over Phish. Well, ... I don't know, Sambora is a better guitarist, atleast.
