Taking most drugs on a full stomach decreases their effects.

It tells you on the prescription that if you take with food it will lower the effects.

Yeah, that's what it says in the literature that comes with my prescriptions.

When I take any sort of drug orally, I try and take it on a completely empty stomach, especially "soma", if you don't take it on an empty stomach it just don't work

it will still work with most things, but the onset will be delayed, and the peak intensity wont be as great, but likely with a bit longer duration.

Having said that, I've also heard that fatty foods can actually potentiate opiates. I've never tried it, so I don't have any first hand experience, but I've heard it before.

It's actually the other way around :).

Opiates are said to promote intake of preferred foods, or to preferentially increase consumption of fat. I haven't found any mention of fat affecting their potency, though.

What do you mean, that they increase your appetite for fatty foods? I haven't noticed anything like that.
