I do not know if I am pregnant yet. I have been thinking of baby names, because it helps calm me during the two week wait.

What do you think of Soledad for a first name?

My husband is mexican-american, and I am german-american. We want a name that reflects both sides.

Can you suggest other names if you do not like it? Or suggest middle names to compliment it of you do...

    Ger-Mexican...lol

i dont know how you would pronounce it so i googled it and the meaning of it is "solitude or loneliness" i dunno if you're into meanings but that one doesnt sound very fun lol. if you pronounce is like "so-lei-daad" i think it sounds pretty at least.

i'm having a hard time with names myself and i'm almost 34 weeks pregnant.

I would pronounce it the way you suggested. The reason for choosing that name...it sounds nice, I like the nickname Solee, and I plan to only have one child. I already have a six year old stepson. Any suggestions for a middle name? or different name?

    How about Soledad Emalee Garcia?

    Soledad Henriette Garcia

    Soledad Marishka Garcia

    Soledad Collette Garcia

I like the idea of mixing anglo-traditional with latin-traditional. Henriette especially. So many nickname options, and it can be kinda punky.

Forgive my ignorance, but is that a unisexual name? In my ears it sounds masculine, but I really don't know. When my wife and I were coming up with names, we made a couple of long lists, of boy and girl names. After that we both went through the list and picked out the first names we really liked for each sex. Then we went through the list again to see if any of the middle names went good with the first names. I live under the impression that the middle name isn't that important. I have people that I have known for a long time, and I still don't know their middle names. My son got his first name after a charector in a knug fu movie I really liked. "Skye and his silver spear". My first daughter, well it's hard to explain her name, but I made it up "Axi". Then my littlest girl, "Akina", is named after a Japanese word meaning "spring time flower", even though we had her in the middle of the summer.

in Spanish all words ending in -dad are feminine. It means woman of solitude. Fitting for an only child. If I have a boy, my husband wants to name him Micheal (Jesus' heavenly name) and middle name Ventura after my husband. We do not want to torture the child by naming him Ventura Garcia, Jr. ugh!

If you are talkin' about me, was just a little bit of typical satire.

I guess it would be a worthy mention that I know someone else who did do the same thing (they have a kid now), and I just joked about it with her

I know the internet is a really terrible thing for communication, but please remember a little face with a tongue, this generally means that the person is only teasing. I can't believe I even wrote that.

In terms of names, I knew a german guy called Alexis, so that's as far as I know on the topic. But that is a cool name.

As we say around here..gotcha. I know it is a little pathetic to be thinking about names already. Most women would blame fluctuating hormones. No, I just want a kid. I do not want to be ready for the nursing home when my children reach adulthood. I'm 22 y.o. and financially stable.

Btw, my mother and I have an extremely strained relationship. She had me at 38, a last ditch effort to keep my dad from walking out on her. It didn't work. Now she is loneyl and bitter and has a special hatred for me. I am determined to make better choices when I am a mother.

I don't think it's pathetic at all, tis cool. Just means you it has to be a good one if you start the thinking early :p

If you want a kid, go for it. Nothing should stop anyone who thinks they would be a good mother, I mean money and age are things people consider- but if the person in question is ready then who is to stop them. Unless they are like 13 or something, and in that case you probably should!

Sounds like you are the perfect example of someone who will be a great mum anyways, you want to bring a child into the world for the right reasons- maybe a little dissimilar to your mother. But then, I am not one to judge there don't know her.

Good luck I say anyways, and I hope you are pregnant :) I will post any name suggestions I have on here, if my creative side ever decides to wake up..

getting thinking early is always good, when i found out i was pregnant I decided early on that if i had a girl her name would be audrey(after my grandmother) and middle name christine after my great grandmothers middle name (my great grandmas name was alice christine and my mother names me Alison after her and apparently I'm a lot like her)
But after a while (Im only 15 weeks and still donèt know the sex) I have already changed my mind, i still love the name but Ive discovered itès rising in popularity, and it kind of did the opposite of grow on me... I still may use it someday but now ive decided on different names

Nora (no middle name decision yet, possibly Jade) Simms
for a girl... or maybe still Audrey Christine
    and Isaac John Simms
for a boy ... (It took me forever to decide on a boys name because i didnt like any of them... I think that my definite distaste for boys names may tell me its a girl, but Ill have to wait and see)

I want a unique earthy sounding name but hippie names donèt really go well with my last name so SO FAR Ive picked the ones I have... but between now and july you never know what i may think of.

um... point being... go ahead and dream, being pregnant and having all those crazy hormones does far more foolish things to your body and mind than make you think of baby names...
wait until you start having the dreams!!! haha

or the super sense of smell... or the insane change of food taste and cravings

I just hope you don't get the terrible morning sickness, consider yourself lucky if you don't!! haha

CONGRATULATIONS! and good luck with that pee stick!
    (I'm 22 too!)
