I was just reading several articles on current.com about the adverse side effects of the HPV vaccine, Gardasil. I got the first injection in April at my school health fair. I got the second injection in July. This month, I am due for the third injection. There were articles on the site talking about how the vaccine can cause genital warts, cervical cancer, blood clots, seizures and death. I'm kind of freaked out now. I mean, I'm kind of relieved because I feel like I would have already experienced those side effects if they were going to happen, but still. Who knows what the long-term effects could be. Now I'm thinking getting the third and final injection may not be such a good idea. Has anyone else done research on this topic? Or received the vaccine and had good/bad experiences? I kinda wish I would have never gotten the stupid vaccine, but it was free and hyped up to be SO WONDERFUL & SAFE. This is scary.
a young girl recently died after getting this vaccine...im sure there are millions of people who have taken it without side effects....its a chance you have to be willing to take? personally i wouldnt get any vaccine at all for any reason.
That's the way it is with all vaccines, and the reason I stopped taking them seriously a long time ago. There are a lot of people who will tell you that Gardasil's benefits outweigh its risks, but I would disagree. The same thing's going on with the H1N1 vaccine right now. Hopefully this will be enough to stop you getting any other vaccines in the future. As MJB said, I wouldn't get any vaccine for any reason.
The girl died of a massive tumour around her heart and lungs that could have killed her at any point, it was just a coincidence she had gotten the vaccine the day before. Plus she was already feeling sick before she got the vaccine. Anyhow.. all vaccines have potential side effects, even the most common ones, and with a new vaccine in particular, like the HPV one, it's hard to know for sure what the potential long-term effects are, or so I'd imagine.
I had the vaccine and nothing at all happened. I actually had a genital wart BEFORE getting the vaccine and it disappeared after I got the vaccine and has yet to return...Honestly, they have to list all of the side effects of these things...for instance, after researching side effects of the H1N1, one of the most "common" ones was this nerve disease that causes people to become crippled, however, every 1 in 1million people actually experience such a side effect. I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. If you've never had any serious health problems, then you should be fine. Your doctor would have known whether or not you shuold get the shot anyway, and if your doctor suggested it, it might be best
