I love all Beatles that are psychedelic, I'm not to fond of the early Beatles with songs like I want to hold your hand... Not some of my favorites, but since it's the Beatles I still very much respect 'em.

My favourite period was the late 60s when the Beatles went all 'wild'. :D

I absolutely LOVE their Psychedelic period. It just sounds fantastic..and the compositions are like audio representations of graphic art. Fab stuff.

Some gems that i consider classic period tunes-

    "Tomorrow Never Knows'
    "It's All Too Much"
    "I Am The Walrus"
    "Within You Without You"
    "If I Needed Someone"
    "Rain"
    "She Said She Said"
"Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds"

For any Beatles fans.....take a look at a little project i worked on last year...

A lifesize marionette of George Harrison, who performs various solo songs !

Read, see, and watch it all in this thread-

Excuse me while I verbally orgasm over "A Day in the Life." This is easily my favorite Beatles song. It is a fantastic example of the Dichotomy of the Lennon an Mc Cartney songwriting team. It was almost like George Martin suggested the song title "A Day in the Life" and sent John Lennon into one room and Paul McCartney into seperate rooms. John Lennon came out with the minor key morose "I read the news today oh boy" etc. and Mc Cartney came out with the almost bubblegum up tempo Major Key, "I get up, Get Out of Bed" etc. I am honestly more of a John Lennon or George Harrison fan. I heard "Silly Love Song" by Wings on the radio one day before it got to the chorus and thought what a great bass line then I listened to the lyrics and thought "What a crappy song."

    Peace Out,
    Rev J

    Thought I'd try to pick an all time top ten of the later Beatles..that's not easy I must admit..great thing is that these can change on a daily basis but for me right now tis these I'd compile for a desert island stranding;

    1.Hey Bulldog
    2.Blue Jay Way
    3.Glass Onion
    4.Rain
5.For The Benefit Of Mr KIte
    6.Dig a Pony
    7.Im So Tired
    8.Only A Northern Song
9.The whole of side two - Abbey Road. (That's a bit of a cheat I know!)
    10.Tomorrow never knows

"There's nowhere you can be that isn't where your mrent to be"
    Peace and love,
    Ben Fuzz
