Honestly, what has he done to deserve this award? He has increased our troop presence in Afghanistan, and really hasnt done anything to help relieve tension in the middle east, except for letting the Israelis run amok, killing people. He has brought us ever closer to the establishment of a Fascist state, in our very own country, and in my opinion, is a traitor to his people.

    Please discuss.

I don't agree with all of what you said - but I do agree that Obama definitely does not deserve it.

I also think SheilaPutang has NO clue what she's talking about if she thinks Bill Clinton would deserve one.

Obama doesn't deserve it. On what grounds do they want to give him the Nobel Peace Prize, if indeed that's true that he's up for it.

Well their mean reasoning for it was Obama's attempt to try to foster a new era of international diplomacy and cooperation, though they even admit most of this is built on promises.

Basically he won it by being the president who's after George W Bush

The Nobel Prize is just a door prize for the few invited to the great party.

As soon as I heard about him getting this award, I thought what everyone else was thinking. When his promises become reality, then he would deserve this award.

This is a play right out of the NWO play book, just look at Henry Kissenger!

I also believe Obama has been quoted as to saying "I'll take this great honor as a call to action." kinda ironic in my opinion...

Um, why was this award given to him? It's confusing to me.

I think Obama has done a decent job, as far as policy... but I'd like to see more substance and less talk. I would have wanted them to wait until he completes his term, then see if he deserves the award. Right now it's way too early.

I like the fact the administration has defended the two gay officials that fell under fire by fire breathing conservative nutjobs, but they need to do way more than just that. There needs to be policy and certain action taken for him to be considered. And that policy needs to be followed by substantive, and positive results.

Well I don't believe most of us think that Obama is terrible. He just hasn't done enough to have won this award. Of course, Obama is way better than Bush... but only time will tell if he'll be a great president!

    1. wasting tons of money. The healthcare bill could be done already (this entire debate process is artificial, and for political gain.) and could be much more efficient than it is, cash for clunkers? okay, that was a shit idea, and rushed through congress faster than is reasonable, no debate on that, and it was an immensely complex bill, you should ask questions about that.

    2. not making decisions that forward peace. He's making politicized decisions, instead of correct ones, like afghanistan, we should have enough troops to keep our soldiers alive, AND protect the natives, that will help make more of them friendly, hence, less terrorism. instead he's hemming and hawing (again, pause for political reasons) because the surge will hurt his numbers.

    3. the bills he's submitted, the economic suggestions he's made, this emphasis on shovel ready projects, that was stupid, the stimulus was badly spent

    4. allowing bailouts for the banks that caused the problem. Not forcing legislation (trust busting) to end this "too big to fail" shit.

    5. pushing projects that claim to be about service, and benefiting america (There are a lot of links for this, but basically his volunteerism initiatives) and channeling most of the volunteers through private contractors, instead of apparatus (like jobcorps, and americorps) designed for just this sort of thing. which is just giving these private, for profit companies, below minimum wage labour, to work government "volunteerism" contracts which would have been worked by americorps, VISTA, NCCC, etc.

    Should I go on?

He's a politician, he is a parasite utilizing his father's racial background to pretend to be different, to pretend to be a change, but he's the same con, the same snake-oil salesman as his predecessor, he's just a better salesman.

he pretended to want to be white when he was early in his career in chicago, he's pretending to be ethnic but non-threatening now. It's a finessing of public image, it's bullshit, and it's a twisted perverse lie that he perpetrates upon anyone who believes he's actually going to change things for the better.

I have problems with him, I don't give a fuck that he's black, I care that he used his blackness to manipulate people, but that has nothing to do with him being black, that has to do with him being a politician.
