For me kissing is more intimate in emotional terms... having sex, you can have sex with virtualy anything you want...hehehe that sounded a little perverted. having sex for the sake of getting off is intimate in physical terms mainly, not emotional so there's a difference.. making love to soemone you love is completely different.
Kissing and sex go hand in hand for me, kissing is the greatest lead up to sex. Full on passionate snogging where your so into each other that you completey lose track and then just start kissing each others bodies all over, while your doing that stroking there bodies lightly and after all of the above your so wound up that your ready for some hardcore sex.
I think they both can be extremely intimate. It just depends on the situation really. Peace, love, and happiness...
I think both are equally intimate. But many have touched upon the concept that the intimacy level is relative to the situation. If you are doing these things just for the sake of getting laid or swapping spit, then you can expect no intimacy. It's just a search for physical release. However, when done with someone you love and want to be close to physically and mentally, then there's no comparison. One action is no more intimate than the other. Your relationship should be intimate. When two people come together, they decide to share their lives with each other, and I believe that creates more intimacy in itself rather than the mere physical acts of kissing or sex.
Oddly in some cases it is in Pretty Women notice how she never kissed him....it is intimate you can screw someone and it be for fun but pure passionate kisses are intiamte and saved for those who are real special to you...maybe its just me lol
