Zev my sweet. I would never suggest that one leave their doc, and replace them with herbs/alternitives. I would like to see them incorperated to work together. Herbs are nutrition, vitamins, minerals, cell salts, amenio acids, ect. Where there is dis-ease there is a lack of proper nutrition.

When your body gets low on these nutrients free radicals, virus, and bacteria run rampid and attack the weakened area.

Most ppl are low in B vitamins bc the do not consume enough green leafy veggies. Iceburg lettuce is not nutricious, so the salad you eat made with iceburg as the main ingredient is not doing you any service. The darker the green the better. Go ahead and thorw some reds and yellows in and you have created a masterpiece. Serve with the protien of your choice and your in biznez'.

Always remember and never forget. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

    Blessings

    Hey Zev,

The upside with ap pits is the high concentration of Vitamin K. Downside, natural source of cyanide. Waddya gonna do?

Don't know when I'll hit the city but will def hook up with ya.

A play is interesting but what do you suggest, "Our Town" stoned out? Not being flippant here just asking.

    Yo Spuddy,

It's that time of year where we differ. Go Yanks. Sorry. Hey, might be jumpin' your way for a couple of days after I hit back the states.

    Darel,

I still have this image of you flyiing over the car hood to stop that Jerry guy. You always gave it all for the cause and that's why I loved you then and love you now. Hey, the lodgepole pine crib I made for my daughter Jessica is still intact and as I have been told was the crib for my own granddaughter.

    Ah, the circle.

As they say here, guten das.

Anybody remember this mural? Did Cyril paint it? I remember his art always had a lot of crucifixes in it. I think this mural was incomplete when I saw it.

I was thinking along the lines of an HBO Original Series, "The Endless Summer of Love." It would be a dark comedy and each episode would be one of us recounting an experience / event at the commune - kind of like the HBO show, "Entourage." We would have professional actors play our characters and we could make cameos. Bollywood here we come!

WB - come on up to Ashland. It will be great to see you. Don't take the train this time. Your room is waiting.

Not a bad idea or title "Our Stoned Out Town" . Simple narration with occasional simple dramatization overlaid with pix of the time and of us now and then. Simple and spare i.e.Virtually verite. think of the docu."Last Call at Mauds". Keep budget down by giving everybody a piece of the action such as it might be. if for nothing else besides artistic/intellectual stimulation, let's just keep bouncing it around. email me your contact infor at wlzev@aol.com

    David,
That mural was painted by James Knight aka Painter Jimmy. It is a Rembrandt (sp?) waiting to be uncovered

Then it was after my time.

I looked up 1428 Haight, the address of the old Trading Post. It's now a cafe called Squat n Gobble. Too bad they had to cover up those Tibetan mandalas.

I thought that was Jimmy's 'work'. As I recall James Allen Knight aka Jimmy Da Painter wore no hat at least I never saw him in one, and his jeans were patched as most of ours were, but his was patched in Leather, not only did Jimmy paint, he was an master leather crafter, making shirts, jackets, pants, vest, well anything and everything in leather.. Jimmy was not a tall man but he was stout. He was a little older then me by 10 yrs, in his thirties when I met him. He lived in the same house I did for several yrs. I knew him well. He was one of my closest brothers, even met my mom n dad in SoCali. We was tight :)

I think Jimmy painted at least one mural in each house. He used to send me drawings from prison when I moved to Pheonix. He made me a leather vest for my 21th Bday with the Green Checkered Demon on the back. Of course it was the Green Checkered Demon, bc he was none other then Nailcakes Rescue Demon. Ellen Da Fellen made me a Rum Cake but Apple ( Jimmy's dog) ate it, so she just gave me the other half of the bottle of rum, and the rest is history.. winks @ WB..

I have searched for Jimmy over the yrs but to no avail. Shills said he seen him in NY a while back, other then that, no word. He would be in his late 60s by now as I am in my late 50s. Dats all I know :)

Hey Cakes et al, (who's Al?)
A few (more?) years ago Jimmy Da Painter was living somewhere on the Oregon coast; maybe around Coos Bay. He was still painting; an incredibly talented man.

    Peace & Love

Somewher. Stored away I've got a small painting that Jimmy did. It's of a woman either African or earliest American. I've got to find it in storage. His stuff was real nice.

That's Cyril I'm pretty sure. He was big into crucifixes and elongated imagery. Jimmy was more circular in his work. Both were extremely expressive in their signature works, but Jimmy worked more in much more saturated colors than Cyril did. Cyril's color stuff was more muted. Hey y'all, Google 1915 Oak Street, San Francisco images. You'll see what it looks like now. I applaud them that they kept the integrity of the history of the place. Gold leaf even.

Yeah, Spuddy, wanna come see ya in bad way. And no, no Amtrak west coast style. Fly or drive. You too, Cheryl. Just as long as that stinky gum smell from the paper mills isn't too strong (at least that's what I remember from trips there with my folks when I was a pup).

Nice ideas, Zev. We'll keep bouncing this around. You have a circle of peeps in NYC who could contribute to an off-off-broadway production I presume.

Steven, almost fifty years on and see what you started? Blessings my brother. BTW, didn't know you were a vet but damned proud of what you're doing. The NWO is more than happy to tout our folks in the military until they've used them up and then piss on 'em. Never forget. Interesting that the big hawks never served.

Dana, love you so much. Beat this down with the same determination that you have always let guide you.

Cakes, wishful thinking here, but what do you think about collaborating (and all of us here) on a preventative healthcare program. Fuck health reform, take care of your own self early on.

Barack, I doubt you're here, but hey bro, we understand that everyone expects you to fix all, right here, right now. But hey, W. and Cheney, broke our legs. Hard to fix with a band aid. Hang in.
