When someone smokes(bud) it could relieve the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

It relieves that psychological urge to smoke, instead of havin clouds of cigarette smoke going in your chest, you can smoke some bud, cause people do crave just that smoking feeling you know?

It enforces the desire to quit smoking cigarettes, get high and you think more deeper about the negative effects cigarettes are having on your life. it can kinda freak you out more, but its a good thing like motivation.

When someone smokes bud, and afterwards, usually find the cigarette smoke more harsh on their lungs. so it curbs the desire to smoke there as well.

not to mention, relaxing you, where it can take away from the anxiety and tenseness you feel when your quittin smokin.

it opens up your lungs, helpin em stay open and clearin all that built up phlegm and stuff from over the time of smoking cigarettes. like nicotine is constricts your lungs and bud is a bronchiodialator.

ahh just a few reasons why i think it could help when someone is quitting smoking cigarettes... anyone tried this, or thought of it as a good idea tohelp?

Yea, i find when i smoke weed i never have the urge to smoke cigarettes.
I think im going to work on quitting though..

And when i do smoke a cigarette when im high i usually can just smoke like half of one.
Since im here with my mom and don't have a constant job i usually don't have money for weed constantly so i usually resort to cigarettes.. but if i could have weed all the time i would completely throw cigarettes away.

Cigarettes basically kills you and weed helps you. :p

Ok now I have time to reply.

I have always thought about that. Its a rough plan for me to quit smoking over x-mas break. I couldn't do it without at least a half but maybe an ounce and no contact with people or stress.

When I get older and can buy as much bud as I want, I definitely plan on using it to quit cigarettes.

When I smoke bud, it kills any urge for a cigarette. And thats considering I mix my bud and hashish with tobacco (I'm not American, understand).

Well whenever I have bud, I barely touch my pack unless its to take a ciggie out for the tobacco.

Dammit I just dug my own grave.

I quit useing this method. I quit smoking for my 30th birthday, I'm 33 now. I had a qp of shwag that I had been un-able to unload for weeks so I just started roling joints of it every time I felt a strong urge for a cig. I smoked the whole qp in about 2 weeks, but I still don't smoke ciggs.

Didn't really help me quit. Strong will helped, and gum. Lots and lots of gum. And the fact that if i didn't quit I'd be in pain every day during football practice. I've quit for 2 months today. But now I'm on the dip, so it was kind of pointless, but hey atleast my lungs are feelin nice.

i don't ever seem to need a cigarette when i'm stoned or while i smoke pot, but you know i can't exactly light up a joint on my breaks at work like i would love to do, so i still smoke both because to put it simply weed is still illegal and can't be smoked at all times when you smoke a cig :(. But fortunately i have been sick as fuck and only been able to smoke weed because cigs are way too harsh, so i have now gone three days with no cigs and loving the feeling in my lungs....maybe i'll finally be able to quit. its worth trying

I will not have a good high if I do not have a cigarette immediately after toking.

A cig afterward is usually nice, for me it's just not absolutly needed but for a lot of people it is. so many people i know need a cig after a bowl, i totally know what your saying, thats probably why a lot of people don't quit

    Appreciate the replies you all.

i can see the different points of view on this, i do have lots if not all of my friends, who after toking seem to just smoke cigs like crazy. but then again most of them do that all day anyway.

so maybe, it's not that you're getting high, like yeah i wanna cigarette, its the fact that your already hooked on cigs and its just part of your routine, but i do see the points though.

sometimes i do admit, a cigarette, the aroma, taste feeling is pleasent after toking, but mostly i just notice the harshness on lungs is more intense, and my thoughts while stoned just makes me put it out early... i just kinda think damn, this shit is gonna end up killing me one day, picturing my insides with tumors and all in it, the consequences just hit me harder while im high you know? as with all things.

    well peace yall.

I find that it works in a reverse fassion for me (i.e. when I smoke cigarettes I loose my drive for wanting to get high)

I haven't smoked a cigarette in over 2 months, but before that I had been smoking anywhere from 1-2 packs a day for 6+ years.

I had weed when I quit smoking cigarettes, but I don't think it made much of a difference. It was nice to have something to smoke, but I always craved a cigarette right after I smoked weed, so it kind of hurt me and helped me.

Either way, I honestly think that if someone wants to quit smoking cigarettes enough, they will do it no matter what. I was just at my breaking point when it came to cigarettes and how bad they were effecting me, so that was that.

hey, thats really good that you quit man, congratulations, 2 months is very good i think, farthest ive gone is a few weeks, and now im tryin again, a couple days.

yeah, if you do have the will to quit, you can but if someone needs a lil somethin on the side to keep their nerves from goin haywire, i say more power to em.

At one point I thought that would be a good way for me to quit, until I realized that I really just have to have a cigarette after a bowl. I've been trying to not have a cigarette after I toke in order to get out of that habit because I'm trying to quit smoking [cigarettes]. It's fuckin hard. :(

However, I find that I crave cigarettes less after joints or blunts. Most of the time I won't even smoke a cigarette after a joint/blunt unless I'm driving and want to clear out the smell.
