what do you people think of them? i picked up one of their Albums today, havent gotten a chance to listen to it yet..
I like all their albums. They're even great in concert. Although I hope you didn't pick up one of there latest albums. There latest albums aren't as good as some of their older music. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
I really like percussionist Jim Donovan... even attended some workshops with him. Which disc have you? I am quite fond of "When I woke."
By far definitely one of the best bands to see live. I had been trying to see them for years and year...a couple of my good friends saw them open for Santana, before he hit his big comeback. He's not bad in concert either, but Rusted Root really knows how to put on a kickin' show.
its funny you all should say they're so great in concert. i saw rr open for santana a few years back, and that had basically been the first concert id ever been to. weed was being passed around, there were some people dancing, it was an alright time, so of course when i left, i felt i had seen a good live act. the next time i would go to a concert would be a year later, my first Phish show. my mind was blown and my standards were permanently sky high for a good rock concert. granted iv only seen a few bands live, but the extent to which phish was so awesome live compared to rusted root...i just cant believe it
hey man, yeah I LOVE Rusted Root and they just put out a LIVE CD...its friggin amazing...all their best stuff and its totally rocking....has this track by their drummer...ECSTATIC DRUMS....amazing... You can read a review and win a copy of it at this online magazine I read www.kyndmusic.com
I saw them at Red Rocks (which means a show will only be so bad no matter what) with Phil & Friends and Rat Dog. Jim spoke about the Santanna tour and how he forgot how to count when he sat in with them night after night. It was his inspirational break through story. Take a class with him, he is amazing and a genuine soul.
rusted root has a very unique sound to me... i dig them alot, but ive met some who totally dislikes them.
