    Hey guys,

The other day, I decided to get a rabbit, as a bit of a companion for my sister's guinnea pig, since we aren't interested in any more baby guinnea pigs running about the place, plus I've just always just been more of a rabbit person.

Well I did get a rabbit; I named her 'Pelt', she eats, and drinks just fine, has really settled in pretty good with the guinnea pig - so all is well there. The only thing is, as the title hints, is that she has three legs. Her right leg is completely gone.

    Here's a photo:

From what you can see, does it look like something that she might've been born with, or something that a vet's gone and chopped off?

When we felt it, we could feel bone underneith the skin.

She doesn't seem to have allot of trouble moving about, I've watched her hop along the carpet no problem, though tiles are a real hassle.

    What do you think?

Well i think having an new member to your critter family is great. I once had a three legged hamster because it got injured and had it amputated. He could still run in his wheel and all that once it was healed (of course he had to practice). Ok I think I'm rambling now... I think your rabbit is cute, nonetheless, and looks very cuddly. ^__^

    she looks so cute!
i had a three legged cat once. he was king tomcat too! he kicked every other tomcat ass on my block and, most of the dogs feared him too. he just was one bad motherfucker!
i was the only person he would let touch him.
just having three legs never held him back!

to answer your question though, that looks like a birth defect to me.

Probably a birth defect or injury resulting in amputation, either way, totally adorable : ) She looks like a sweetheart.

She's doing great :) Very big girl now

She's learnt to come when she's called and she's still as cheeky as ever. Absolutely looooves getting her ears scratched (especially on the side where she's missing the leg) Got a vid of her about three weeks ago as well, thought I'd share the cute fluffiness
