anyone else do this? listen to one particular song to such an obsession that you know every single note. like, i will have a whole crapload of songs from a particular artists, yet i'll dwell on one song for weeks, even months. i probably listened to pink floyd's echoes a thousand times. and phish's divided sky and wading in a velvet sea.

Yup...that would be Great Gig In The Sky. That song has stuck with me for the past 3 1/2 years. :D

Yes, I've done this my whole life. I'll go through phases where I have to hear this one specific song at least twice a day. Sometimes I can't listen to any other songs without listening to that one song first. And ever since I got an ipod things have only gotten worse, now it's like 3-4 songs a day.

I do this too... but usually it's an artist who i can't get enough of... lately, tom petty. good gravy, he is fantastic. Right before him, the Beatles, and Ani D

Well, I don't really get caught up in songs, but I do so with albums. (The Who's Tommy and Pink Floyd's The Piper at the Gates of Dawn)

Oh yes, I have this all the time. I looooooove the repeat song button.

I used to have this more often a while ago. Still happens though.

I'm right in the middle of an Outlaw torn / Low man's lyric ( Metallica ) addiction, by the way.

That happens to me right now. At present, it's with "Remember When It Rained" by Josh Groban... yes, laugh it up, chuckles.

Hehe, I'm in love with that song. :)

So, well then what song from Highway 61 is your favorite? I like all of them except for "Ballad of A Thin Man". That one confuses me. :D

I get cought up in the mood "that song" generates within. Its truly exhilaterating if you can find another song to carry it further. But if not I tend to place the work load on the one song and play it the whole day through. :)

I get stuck on a particular band. First one I can remember being stuck on is Sublime. There have been a lot I have been stuck on since then though. Now I am stuck on the Rolling Stones.

I remember at one point I was fixated on "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen. I still love Queen to death, but that song is far from the top for me now. I was also really stuck on "Hot for Teacher" for a while. Don't ask me why. Van Halen is okay, but that one song in particular was really big for me for a while.

I've always been fixated on Beethoven's Symphony #5 and J.S. Bach's Tocatta en Fugue, so much so that I knew all of the notes (even though I didn't know the actual pitch) in my head, and it only got worse when I got into guitar oriented rock and found a bunch of arrangements of these pieces done on the electric guitar and electric keyboard. Lovely!
