I have two sons and I have never really brushed their hair. I have been waiting to see if their hair would dread on its own. Son 1 has very thick hair and a lot of it. Son 2 has very fine hair and its thin. Both have a bit of curl but their hair is far from curly. Son 1 has longer hair and it does not even have any clumps to speak of... no natural sectioning or anything. Son 2 has about five dreads started on the back of his hair. They are way cute and tend to stick straight out in the back. Kinda neat to see the actual difference that thick vs. thin plays. My mom is cutting their hair this weekend though and it will be a sad day to see his baby dreads go. Maybe in the spirit of the forum I will keep them and try and sew them on to some of my ends. lol =)
Why not just let their hair grow? I mean do they really have to have a haircut? Of course if you want them cut that's another thing. My almost four year old son has never had a haircut and is five months into neglect dreads. That's pretty cool getting to watch the difference in thick versus thin hair though.
Very neat!! ^ I would love to let their hair continue to grow, but they have chosen to have it cut. They want hair like daddy's and not mommy's. =( Wahhh.... Neither has had a hair cut since last Dec but my son got glasses a month ago so we trimmed their bangs so his hair didn't get in teh way of the glasses (it was annoying him). One day they may choose to have hair like Mommy! =D P.S. If you have pics I'd love to see them. I bet he looks darn cute with them.
If they want it cut by all means. In my case my son wants hair like daddy's.... and his sister enlightened him to the fact that with dreads he wouldn't have to brush his hair. I have to get some photos because he is awefully cute and his dreads are coming along nicely.
that's awesome jodie but a shame they want em cut! dreadie kids are cute as shiz, I want a lil boy with locks <3
I want Riloh to have locks too but he is obsessed with brushing his hair! he likes it poofed up like a little grannydon't let yo momma cut their hair
I don't have my digital camera here. PErhaps I'll take some with our regular camera and screen them once developed. In other news, my mother suggested I glue them first before I attach them because their not too tight. that made me lol.
Amara wanted dreads for a second and then decided she hated them! Her hair dreads so damn fast too. She wakes up every morning with at least one or two dreads in the back. Nothing dreads better than fine baby hair!
lots of people ruffle Riloh's curls, so say if I was going to dread his hair would I have to scream at old women as they reach their hands out to touch his hair..?
