There was a threat though. The moment the world took its eye off Saddams' regime it would re-arm with WMD including nuclear weapons if Sadam could get hold of material to make them. There was also some sort of pact between Iraq and Al Qaeda. Maybe not one of direct co-operation but one of mutual assistance or something similar. The CIA report on the possibility of a connection did admit there had been contacts between the two, including a call for help to Saddam from Osama bin Laden.
No that's what UNMOVIC was for - monitoring and verification. No this is provably wrong as I have pointed out before. There was no pact. There was no assistance. The 9/11 commission conclusively proved this. Please read it rather than continuing to spout your ignorant ideological drivel.
man there is one thing that is pissing me off at the moment. i keep hearing more and more ways that tony and george are fucking up, and although i'm encouraged that more and more people are starting to get angry and acepting that things are getting out of control there still doesn't seem to be anything happening maybe it's just my city has fallen asleep but we haven't had a anti war march in so long and ok so they didn't have an effect but to me that just means it's time to do something more.
There have been demos... check my forum out or the Stop The War website? Why dont you organise something locally? We had one last Tuesday... It seems according to Radio 4, that the UK troops are pulling out today. There's gonna be a HUGE demo next March.... details to follow Work on the ripples.... and hope they turn into waves..... thats all we can do mate Love Clairexxx
After watching maggot US inbreds shooting dead a wounded man in a destroyed and empty building on the BBC 10 o'clock news just now, all I can say is......
Yeah I posted this on the "humanitarian disaster" thread, it was quite sickening. Amnesty has stated that this is a breach of international law: http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=topNews&storyID=6813303
It's actually another event where US troops enter what I think is a ruin of a mosque. (The day before, troops allegedly left four or five seriously wounded men there rather than give them medical help.) One of the marines shoots one of the unarmed, injured Iraqis in the head. It was on the news earlier but the report is still coming in on the site.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/default.stm Very liberating!
It's amazing that these events - direct violations of the Geneva conventions - are getting captured on video. There's overwhelming, irrefutable evidence of war crimes being perpetrated. And will these troops or their commanders get tried as war criminals? Will they fuck.
Here's the link http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4014901.stm . No doubt there'll be a lot more stories of war crimes in the weeks and months to come.
