    Hi All,

I'm new here and not sure where to post this. However, here goes. Does anybody know of any beach towns on the east coast of the united states that have the following qualities?

Laid back, hippie, surfer type beach towns with not a huge amount of people, with a low cost of living. I work in the corporate world and i hate it!! I want to move to a beach town with a laid back surfer/hippie atmosphere and do my own thing owning a business selling drinks or sunglasses on the beach or anything where I control my life and can do what I want and not be a slave to a corporation. Please help me fullfill my dream. Thanks

Stay outta new jersey? The shore communties are not real good on the "Laid Back" part. maximum enforcement=maximum fines=income for a lot of these shore towns.
    good luck

There are a lot of little coast towns in Florida, I haven't been to very many. I lived in Melbourne for a while though, that was pretty laid back. Lovely little pizza/Italian place right on the beach... mmm calamari. The beach town of Melbourne is called Indialantic.
