Are mexican's like the "cool" people now? this is not meant to be racist.. im just wondering what makes someone that's hispanic more appealing to children?(Dora and Diego.. and this Manny character) is it the fact that we are just trying to teach our children simple spanish? are kids comfortable with hispanics? just food for thought.. Discuss! on a side note.. Uncle Sam use to be beardless.. they added a beard to him later when it showed that the demographic was more comfortable and trusting of someone with facial hair compared to someone who was clean shaven...
Where did you get that hispanics are cool now??? Im hispanic and i don't think that makes me any cooler?? I think hispanics just stick out more because they are traveling here from cuba and mexico and whatnot and theres just more than there used to be.

I agree I just think that the population is getting to a point that we need to consider the demographic of just who our country is made up with. If you think about it. The hispanic population has grown over the last twenty years. Look at our industry, food service is mostly hispanic here in Chicago. I have to learn spanish in order to comunicate with my staff. My spanglish sucks so I make due but I wish I had a better way to communicate. If I was more of a line level manager, I would need a much better knowledge of the spanish language.
yeah.. when i lived in st. paul.. i worked in at a Green Mill.. there were 3 of us that spoke english.. a couple mexicans that could understand some english.. and then some that knew none... I dunno about the chicagoland area.. but im surprised you dont need to know Somalian.. they are the other minority majority for kitchen staff.. actually when i applied to work at the airport when i lived in STP.. they asked me what languages i knew.. and i said english and spanish.. and they go "well 95% of our staff is Somalian".. wtf.. no.. sorry.. they didnt offer Somalian in high school
Somalian? Huh. Well, I think there is one or two restaurants here that serve that kind of food but other than that I would say that in Chicago 60% - 70% of most of the culinary staff are of hispanic origin. The rest would be a mixture of white and black.

they appeal to kids cause they're fucking goofy. Theyre ok usually... until they start harassing pre-teen girls and I have to kick their asses. or they start playing their shitty music loud as fuck at 2am when im trying to chill and I have to go shoot off the shotgun in the back yard so they'll run inside and shutup. or when they walk in large packs like feral dogs down the middle of the road and I have to almost run them over.... OR when they think its ok to keep fucking chickens in a residential neighborhood, but that ended up well, cause I got about 10 free chickens and all my friends had chicken for dinner. or when they let their little brats run the fuck around without surpervision doing fuck knows what, itd be ok, but the little fucks are dumb as rocks. to sum it up, my neighborhood recently was invaded by the bastards and they give me alot of grief, im just glad they all think im a crazy gringo and I can scare them or id be going crazy. to note though, the women are usually ok, and some actually really nice and theres a few cool guys, but the majority of them can gtfo or die.
