I did it in Harrisburg Pa. I'd wait until around lunch time - when everyone from the capitol would go for a bite, I'd play. I did pretty good too.

Never done it like that, but I did play my les paul unplugged last year... I got it a few weeks before and it was brand new and shiny :) and still had that Gibson mahogany scent to it... I started playing without an amp in my science class and then two or three other people with guitars stopped... and all of a sudden, I look up since it was silent and there was a crowd of people around me...

MonnJava, i've done a lot of busking over the past year. i've only gone into boston to play the subway twice and each time, i was lucky to make $30 in eight hours. this summer i quit my job and moved back home to MA. well, i moved into my car to be more precise. i refused to get a job for myself and was forced to play my guitar for food and gas money. all i did this summer was play for tips in my home town in every bar there is. it's a great and easy way to get yourself established to the point where people see you walking down the street and say "hey, it's that guitar guy!" go for it. busking is a great experience.

I used to do this during lunch when I was in high school, out in the courtyard with my acoustic... I'd usually make a few dollars each day. The best was on annual day though, I had a singer... it was great. Playing the blues and this guy was singing about how poor he was, with no money to buy a year book. He raised $112, bought a year book and gave me $30. :)
