So I've been looking for somewhere to share this ever since it happened. Last summer some really strange things started happening in my house...it was about six months after we'd moved in to it. It was like one day we had some creepy feelings, and then weird things started to happen. We'd hear change being dropped on our hardwood floor and we'd find it there....we actually saw change, a spoon, and a cup fly across/off our counters. Our faucets turned on by themselves, we heard knocking sounds on our walls/doors, and scratching noises on the furniture. We tried to explain away all of it, but eventually it progressed until it was out of control. At first I thought it was kind of cool, because I'm into that kind of stuff, but it got to the point where I was freaked out all the time at my house. It actually stopped on its own after my friend moved out...she'd moved in with us after she got raped and needed a place to stay. After she left (she ended up staying in a mental instiution for a bit), everything seemed to go with her. I'm not sure if it was just her inner termoil fueling it or what, but it was one of the worst experiences of my life. It doesn't sound all that bad, but it just gave you a sick feeling to be there after a while...it was weird. Okay, just needed to share. There aren't too many people you can tell stuff like that to without them making fun of you or thinking you're nuts.
Sounds familiar. We have a presence in our house that comes to life (in a manner of speaking ) when a certain friend of ours comes to the house. Faucets would turn on by themselves, lights would turn on and off, temperature fluctuations in the room he was staying and doors opening and closing were common occurrences when he would visit. Not so much anymore, but when he first started visiting. It was shortly after his father had died and he had a really rough go of it for a while. Less has happened lately when he has come. He's a happier person in general now, though.
Did the strange occurrences begin as soon as your friend moved in? I know you said it stopped when she left. I know something weird happens in my house occasionally. Nothing happened until maybe 5 months after moving in. Since then, something usually happens once a week. Sometimes the bedroom doors will fly open and I witnessed it happening along with 2 other people. There is no breeze to make it happen and the door will be completely latched. We've even seen the door knob move and heard the doors unlatch before it opens. This has only happen 3 times though but that alone says something. The most common thing that happens is the sound of knocking on the walls and doors. Just the other day, I was in my room watching a movie with the door closed. I heard constant knocking on the door and I thought it was my boyfriend messing with me. Only cause most people would knock a few times then wait for the person to open the door. But this time it was just constant knocking, really loud but it didn't stop till I opened the door. There were probably about 10-15 knocks. Nobody was there and I looked for my boyfriend who was outside cause he heard the knocks too but thought it was the front door. I'm 100% certain that it was my bedroom door. so I went back into my room and he went back into his office and within 5 seconds the knocking was back. I opened the door and it stopped. My boyfriend walks out of his office and asked me what that was. Then we heard the knocking throughout the hallway but the sound was leaving me and going his direction. It was just knocking from my side of the hallway over to his side but then it just randomly stopped. That was weird but nothing happened after that. The most recent thing that happened was last night though. We were having people over and nobody left the living room all night. I went into my room and turned on some music and hooked up a black light into my bedroom. I turned off the normal light and left the door open so we could hear the music in the living room. I went back to the living room to socialize and looked back and saw that the light was off but I could see the blacklight on. Nobody went back there and neither did I. I know the main light was off since I turned it off to turn the blacklight on. I also looked back and I know the light was off, as I saw it off from the living room. We all hung out for 10 more minutes until I decided to get up and change the music in my room. When I walked down that hallway, I noticed my light was on. I only had 4 other people at the house and none of them left the living room. I don't know if I have a poltergeist but weird stuff has been happening for 2 months now. All the activity only takes place in the bedrooms. Nothing ever happens in the kitchen or living room. Sorry for the ramble. Just wanted to explain my share.
Last year( I was going through puberty and also a really hard time) I started moving things unintentionally when I was really upset. Just papers and stuff, it could be ignored. That was untill a large glass ashtray flew through the air and almost hit my mom. I was at karate one day and the door to the dojang kept banging open and shut untill I walked out and it quit. The windows in my house used to rattle in the rooms I was in. I would even set off security alarms! After that activity picked up untill I hit 13 and it just faded away, thank God. I believe thats all poltergeists are, your own mind.
