Haha, I found that hilarious. Do guys really think we're oblivious to our own weight gain?

I don't know... I'd probably question what kind of girl would be going out with a loser who would actually use those tips...

Well, I dismiss it as total BS. Why would anyone do anything like that to their woman? You're supposed to love her, not try to hurt her.. God, I'd never do that to my woman.

The only time I'd really tell her she needs to lose weight is when she's getting unhealthy, and that'd be for her, not me. Even then, I wouldn't do any of those cruel things. I'd just tell her I love her and am worried about her health. That's really the only time it's appropriate to tell her she needs to lose weight anyways, when it's unhealty :p

And you know something else? Who cares if she's overweight. Hell, there's nothing sexier than a girl who has a bit of weight on her. It just makes her softer and better to cuddle with. Just like I said, up to the point where she's still healthy.

As a strapping young lad, i find some cushion on a woman to accentuate one's feminine and unique form.

Now, if you are really overweight to the point where it affects your health, then will we need to handle such a situation. however, if a girl is a tad thick, i don't see her as repulsive, but as something special to savor.

We're being told to lighten up but there was nothing funny about the feature and men surely are going to take it seriously.

And it's lovely that some of the guys here are coming in and defending 'curves' (*cough*aka normal*cough*) but it's not about weight. It's about their approach. Just wrong.

But once again, who cares? Out of all the offensive shit on the internet, why bother singling out one thing? The internet has something to offend everyone; no need to get up in arms just because you ran across the one that offends you. People are idiots -- God knows there are enough of them on these forums. When they do something stupid, just ignore it. There's no need to go on for seven pages about it when it's not going to change anything, and besides that, it's not important anyway. What someone thinks about women, or body weight, or anything else is not important, and not worthy of discussion -- especially not when you take it this seriously.

Several months ago I got a People magazine in the mail addressed to me... I am not into that kinda thing and was confused but I just shrugged it off. Then a week or so later I got an "Ask Men" magazine in the mail as well... (At least I'm pretty sure this was the one, it was pretty similar. Either way it was a MENS one.)

Like I said, it was addressed to me. I have never paid or gotten a bill for either of these magazines... So my DAD reads them.

Yes, my father is the type of person who would read, and believe this type of bullshit.

And that drives me crazy. I started to read this and it makes me sick. I do not care if it's meant to be a joke or not.. "more self-confident girlfriend rather than a grumpy lard-ass"

How could you call someone you love a "lard-ass"? *sigh* Whatever.. This is just ridiculous.

I know a lot of people who are not idiots, who are businessmen, who think they are so wonderful and they deserve plastic women and would read something like this and yes they may laugh at it but they would still think "hmm... some good ideas here!"

I can see my father buying my mother clothes too small to entice her to shed some pounds.

But my point is it's just completely unnecessary to talk about anyone the way these people talk about women. You shouldn't ever call anyone a lard-ass and I cannot IMAGINE the embarrassment someone faces when they brake a chair! How could anyone want to FORCE that upon someone? That's just awful. Shame on them.

In Scotland we have a very simple way of telling if our women are getting fatter, they are getting older.:smilielol5:

Actually, it's the same for everyone.... ;)

Please don't take offence at that, I'm just kidding.

"Really pretty, witty women are always with fat, loserish, pathetic husbands."

I love how you included fat as a part of his negative qualities. Now who's judging?

"If a woman talks about the social pressure to be thing, then a man might chime in about "well I am under pressure to not cry or show feelings"

and I really feel for men on issues like that... I think it's horribly wrong that our world puts that kind of pressure on ANYONE...

it's as if people are offended if someone wants to discuss a specific issue and then they have to bring up ALL this other crap to show that it happens to others... that still doesn't make it okay though!"

It's because NO ONE ADDRESSES IT IN A SERIOUS MANNER. It's because feminism focuses on what's happening to women, not what's happening with with gender issues. I'm telling you, as long as you keep calling it feminism, is it really going to be equal?

""but men have to deal with shit too!"--- well no shit."

I agree that most people take it too far, but where and when are men supposed to focus on these things? If feminism is about equality, then we need to look at how both genders are being treated.

"I do not care if it's meant to be a joke or not.."

So... if you're acknowledging it might be a joke, then why are you acting like it's definitively not? you dont' care if it's a joke, but how could anyone actually do that to someone... if it's a joke, doesn't that mean they don't actually intend for people to do it?

sorry, but that just seemed a bit logically/emotionally crossed

Direct your anger at what makes these ideas, not what runs with them

I agree this is quite rude.

but think of it realistically. ONLY IDIOTS read this and tell their partner this. If the woman had a brain, she'd break up with the idiot that shes dating

Theres a lot more stuff on the internet that is 10x worse. but its What ever. Only idiots, only idiots. let it be

My biggest problem with that list is this line.
"Sometimes as men we have to get downright nefarious to get what we want."
    Yuck.

I'd want to know if I was getting fat. Although, I'd like to ask first.
I think it's natural to want to be skinny, or dislike fat people. It's natural for the human body to be slim and toned. It's just the way nature intended it.
