I think you got a fine example of people only acknowledging what they're willing to. It makes debate moot because anti-marijuana folks will block out the logic that supports common sense legalization- they don't care that it is less dangerous than alcohol; that it's not physically addictive... so many have such self-righteous, vindictive mindsets that they are blind to any fact that casts marijuana in anything but a negative light. Simply put, they have been thoroughly brainwashed into harboring a groundless hatred of a plant and would enthusiastically ruin someone's life because they had a roach on them. It is a popular mindset that unfortunately votes in numbers and is the main reason that full legalization is fated to die. Proper normalization of marijuana policy must wait a generation or two at very least- provided the fear-mongering propaganda gets set aside in favor of facts that acknowledge its true effects on humans. I'm reasonably certain that I will not see rational marijuana laws in my lifetime.
That and also most people dont consider nicotine or alcohol as a drug, whereas marijuana is automatically classed as a "drug" in the sense that its something to be sneered down on...legalisation isnt really thinking realistically, too hard to change peoples mindsets. Although for us free enough to choose to live life by our own morals rather than those impressed upon us by our "leaders"..well its not as if we have much difficulty in getting weed is it Gone a bit off the point here havnt I...well actually I didnt know it to begin with, hmm either way a pig is a pig... That reminds me aswell actually, I had to get my passport picture stamped up at the cop shop yesterday and when I went in Babyface (local DS) saw me and called me over. He asked me if there was any weed around and I said "no, why? Not doing your job properly is it?" fucker replied by walking me over to the evidence locker, opened it up and there was 8 fully budded skunk plants, about an ounce on each plant.
