Has anyone read the "Sleeping Beauty" trilogy by Anne Rice?
I never read any of her vampire books, but someone just gave me the first of her erotic "Sleeping Beauty" books.

There was alot of paddling and humiliation in it and sex.I liked it,but I don't really care to read the other two and also I can't look at "Sleeping Beauty" the same anymore! :p

I have the first and the second books. I quickly read them a long time ago. Pretty interesting read, but I'm not too into the humiliation, domination/submission sort of stuff.

Anne Rice is okay. I doubt I'll ready any erotica she writes, though.

I've read the first two. I did find them interesting and arousing, but I have trouble dealing with the idea those young men could keep their erections all day long. It's really the only S&M novels I've ever read.

    Not really very realistic.

    1. If everyone from the lowliest villager to the soldiers up to the nobility is so busy fucking and thinking of fucking, how can that kingdom become so powerful that other kingdoms pay tribute to it?

    2. No STDs, no pregnancies.

I've heard a lot about these books and how great they are. My ex loved them. My kink buddies love them.

The first one bothered me a bit. It wasn't realistic at all, IMO. Now some might say it's a fantasy so who cares? Me.

Simply from the, "don't break your toys" aspect, a lot of the book is just stupid.

Also there were pedophile issues in it.

And frankly, as much as I enjoy spanking and being spanked, I couldn't eat a meal much less run a Queendom while it was going on.

Now I like some of Anne Rice's books, don't get me wrong. This one simply seemed off track. Exit to Eden was a much, much better kinky book, IMO.

i`ve read all three books. and i have most of her vampire chronical books. im definitly a fan of Anne Rice.
now to sleeping beauty. somethings where intresting and kinda hot others, they where the oposite and kind of gross to me. like i really didn`t like sleeping beauty the character. nothing about her appeald to me at all. i did like Tristan. i don`t remember why sens it was so long ago i read the books. i had just turnd 18 at that time so it was some time ago.
But her male characters oftenly are more intresting then her female once.its like they have more depth, the only female character i been abel to actully like in her books so far is Gabrielle and the twins maharet and makera, from the vampire chronicals. if this is just cuse i generly don`t like female character in books and movies ore if this is thrue for other i don`t know. would be nice to find out though. ^.^
anyway back to sleeping beauty. those books are not as good as her other books but for a erotic novel i thought was good enought as long as you skip serten sceans. XP i haven`t read to many of erotic novels yet. feel free to recomand me some. I need still to read her other once.
what i do like about the beutybooks is that she actully created a fantasy world where you can almost feel and smell the sents in it. (not always a good thing ;) )
this is something she dose in many of her books sn`t it? love to hear more thouths from others that read it.

I find Anne Rice's vampire stories to be well thought out with a different twist on the usual vampire type stories.

However, although I enjoyed her premise as well as the quality of her writing, as someone who particpates in BDSM (as well as writes about it), I honestly did not enjoy Rice's Beauty trilogy. Too much spanking and gratuitous sex that, at least to me, wasn't really interesting at all, not to mention realistic.

Personally, I prefer books along the lines of the Story of O which tend to provide insight into the lifestyle and, although the sex is not particularly graphic, my mind has a wonderful way of envisioning with the right type of staging and I find that to be far more erotic.
