    Hi Everyone,

I would like to start or be a part of a community somewhere in Canada. I think there are lots of possibilities and options for this, and would like to explore them with people who share this idea.

To start, I think it is all about the people and finding people that click and get along well together. So about me. I am a 35 GWM, currently in Ontario, i love the outdoors, painting, reading, building things, organic gardening, educated, canoeing, kayaking, drumming and meditation. I am a hard worker and passionate about building something sustainable and eco-friendly and a comfortable alternative to conventional life.

I am looking for a few people who are as equally as passionate about creating community and willing to put in the work necessary to do it ... work hard play hard kind of philosophy. A community should also be fun right ...

Here are the options that I see right now, but I am open to more:

-I have 40 acres in Northern Ontario, would take lots of work, but the land is already there waiting and some preliminary things have been done and there is a cabin there
-I am open to joining a community and willing to put in work and resources if it is a good fit
-I am open to selling the land I have and joining others in purchasing a property
-Though I am in Ontario now, I am willing to consider other places ... the East Coast has lots of affordable land and is beautiful, the west coast is beautiful, but the land is expensive ...

Anyways, just thought I would put this out there and see what happens.

    Cheers :cheers2:

Hey Jayson, there is a community in Northern Ontario that currently exists and it's called Lost Acres. I've never been, but I have been in contact with Tom (ChronicTom on the forum). He has limited access to internet, but you may want to make contact. Good luck!

Jason. Great Idea ..The east coast is (I go to the east coast every summer for about 3 months) ....good but I was thinking that Mexico would be good. It could be a common ground for all Europeans, Canadians and other. There are some choices, buy an old monestary, Hotel, Farm in a rural area in the mountains .... and find several guys to become part of it. It would have to have a focus, art, tourism, or agricultural (cheese making, wine production) based. It could be rural tourism with horses, cattle and horses, or a mix if several things. However with some creativity it could be good. Tourism is the easiest and the most lucrative. With about 20 guys it could work well, even if some were seasonal or drop in. If there are any others interested I would be willing to help develop things and get things on track.....with the organizing and such. (It could also be Herterosexual friendly! LOL)

Mexico ? hey man... if it was alright in the 70s and 80s... but since a few years now Mexico is dangerous and not just for Mexican...there's an increasin' number of Kidnapping of Foreigners...
I don't know...it's a little bit like playin' to the Russian Roulette...
it's the fault of those damned gang... then they ask to your family to pay them a lot of money to let you go.
Or maybe there's better place than others in Mexico... outside Mexico...Patagonia is safer...but well...colder as well glouppps
