so, while i was doing a deep cleanse today, i was reminiscing about the volcano i built as a child. then, it dawned on me. what if i dumped baking soda on my head and then vinegar? that would be the ultimate fizzy deep cleanse. has anyone ever tried this?
I've thought about this and would try it but I never have vinegar, especially apple cider since it is pretty pricey here.
Really?! ACV is 38 pence for 330ml I haven't tried it on my hair Vig, but I have done it on my leather sofas. Epic results too.
I am not sure what others consider pricey but here for a smaller bottle probably under or 16 ounces is about 4 dollars. That is just too much for me to spend on that. White vinegar is about 2 dollars but I still never buy it.
DON'T DO IT!!! When I clean my bathtub I spray a baking soda & water mix on first then come behind with a spray bottle with ACV and spray over that and it causes a chemical reaction. I am afraid it would cause some kind of chemical burn there. Just a thought.
well, when i made my volcano back when i was six(lol) it was just a fizzy thing, i guess i should try it on my skin first.i think one of the boys should volunteer...enjoy?brew? anybody?
I tried this about a year ago and think its pointless. A double replacement reaction occurs between the bicarb and acetic acid leaving behind carbon dioxide (the bubbles you see), water, and sodium acetate (a salt) Reacting the bicarb and vinegar essentially strips them of their cleaning benefits (because they become new chemicals) NaHCO3 (aq) + CH3COOH (aq) ----> CO2 (g) + H2O (l) + CH3COONa (aq) I think my scalp may be slightly acidic because aqueous solutions of bicarb tend to create a thin, bubbly, white foam after I rub it onto my scalp. I usually use bicarb dissolved in water, rinse with plain water, then rinse with diluted ACV.
This is pretty much what I do when I use bi-carb. I'm in Alberta. Never really considered AVC expensive. Compared to shampoo... Plus, you can cook with it. I don't recall exactly what I paid for my big jug but it's lasted me a year and was well worth it.
