We all go barefoot to the veterinarian, right? RIGHT??? Anyway, I took our 2 dogs over for (their) checkup and (my) check. We were all barefoot, doggies and I. All was well, until the vet herself asked, quite nicely, "Where are your shoes?" A) In my back pocket. B) Did they fall off again?? C) I go barefoot on weekends. I opted for C). Never antagonize a service provider. She wasn't challenging my bare feet in her clinic so much as being curious about the fact that I was out and about barefoot. She commented that bare feet had been in the news---some guy walking barefoot in the snow, in the park, etc. Did I often go out "without shoes"? My wife helpfully chimed in by noting that marathon runners have been discovering that running shoes aren't all that helpful, that bare feet might be preferable. Score 1 for the barefooter.
When our Tommy (a neutered male cat) goes to the vet, Ronnie and I have to take him because he doesn't have a driver's license (too young). Ronnie wears sandale and I'm barefoot as usual. Vet says nothing to me about my bare feet. If he would, I'd reply, well, your patient (Tommie Cat) is barefoot! Hugz Bobby
