The "Holding Camp" scene is often as not a good thing to avoid, and the Shawnee gathering doesn't get going till October....but here's a start.

"From I-57 get off on exit 24. Turn right onto Cypress road(14). Go through town of Dongola. Turn right on W Cross St.(12). Turn left on Mill St. Turn sharp right on E Railroad st.(127) about 5.5 miles turn left on Lingle Creek Rd. Stay on this road and veer right at both forks. Make right on to Barkhausen Lane and turn into first driveway."

Hey, you Chicagoans, how much farther is it to around, say, Traverse City MI than down to the southern tip of Illinois? You might find MI gatherings inside driving range for a weekend trip, and they're far less prone to random drunk dumb shit than Shawnee. Also regional gatherings in WI.

Not discouraging you from going, but be aware that Shawnee can attract a disproportionate number of Rainbows from the hotter end of the spectrum.

What wonderfully diplomatic words of wisdom....but..."CAN"? LOL!!
More than a few folk have described last year's Shawnee as a "blood bath"... Granted, it was Little Hawk's Memorial...

Shawnee is my home gathering, though I'm a Nerfling now, i suppose. I'll say this of shawnee...there's a lot of rough energy at the gate, very often. This much is true. But, also, the shawnee is an amazing forest and land. It deserves love and honor, as well as good and kind family to raise the energy of the gathering. We can either write it off as an "A Camp" gathering, and avoid it, or we can go into the woods with positive intention and love, and lift the vibration. For some, this will be thier first gathering. Let's have kind vibes to welcome them home!!! Love light, earthdancer

Well, there was a general brawl every 3 days or so, with minor mayhem on the off days, and a fight nearly broke out during the memorial service, but I guess ol' Geoffery would have thought that about did him right

I would not expect it to be as rough this year without the whole "Let's see how drunk & stoopid we can get to honor our deceased brother" thing going on.

What's shakin family.........me and BC are on our way to shawnee right now........not sure whats up with it but we're in the process of spangin through tennessee. Leaving Knoxville today, should be in nashville later today. Had alot of troubles in Tennessee........this gutter punk gangrene that was road doggin it with me got overly spun and caused some troubles in a lot, homeboy actually rolled up on leo's with a mask over his face and proclaimed he was robbin' dumpsters.......got even sillier from there .........none of us got in trouble but him but my wheels got impounded and it cost me bout all i had to get it out. bad times. that and my brakeline blew and i've got very little brake pressure. either way im really hoping to be in shawnee by weekend..........never been to a shawnee gathering so im lookin forward to kickin it with you kids. If theirs any propa kids on my route that wanna get up post something here........im checkin a couple times a day. Lovin you kids.

I, for one, would have a hard time trusting someone who called himself "Gangrene"....He should stick with "Robbin Dumpsters"

yeah i totally agree, i only kicked it with him for about a week but that was enough for me to figure out what he's all about........i can't have that drama around me, i do fine without heat magnets around me.........sometimes im too open with who i kick it with i think. either way whatevers clever............i definitely learned from it so i guess thats whats up. you know any updated info turnup?? i really hope to see you there bro, i've been postin next to you for years now. ..........either way time for me to beat it on down the line right now, just stopped for bliss. lovin you.

hello family from holding camp b. here in Shawnee. We are camped at one of two holding camps. One is on private property and is a drinker friendly camp and the other is a pretty much a dry camp in the national forest. There have been new directions posted on welcome here that are to the private land spot, but the directions posted here on hip forums are to familly that can show you were everyone is at. both camps are within a few miles of each other.

loven you hope to see you here!:hat:

really u should be able to get there tonight from nashville using 24 it takes maybe an hour and a half. looks like i ain't making it this year, which is a total fucking bummer. i want to go so bad, but i'm pregnant and have a 3 year old and i've got no tent to put us up in, got everything else just no shelter, and hoping Wanderingturnup can work something out getting me to cali for the harvest.

i hope its a great gathering and i send all my love to you kids out there,

    love ya'll
