I hear ya' - I remember back in the 70's when it was more pics and articles than all the bs ads you run across in it now. Just another case of a company getting greedy and selling out to Madison Ave. Waste of good money. Stick to the online mags you'll find at this link site - http://marijuana.com

For best pics - bar none - go to http://overgrow.com

yea, i heard they wanted to change their image as a pot-only magazine to more of a "youth culture" magazine... lame! also, they used to sell high times and cannabis culture in the student union's shop but they stopped after my freshman year :(

Hell, if you can get issue #1 for $3, then go for it - where else can you get a true collector's item for that amount? If you don't want it, pm me and I'll jump on it.

Yeah, the quality and quantity of their dope pics has steadily deteriorated over the decades, that's for sure. I can remember in the 70's they used to have centerfolds of piles of blow that would make your mouth water (of course back then the general assumption was that coke was totally "safe" to do). Don't ask me how in hell we were supposed to "know" that whatever in the pic was indeed really coke, all I know is those pics did look awfully damn good.

    Later -

Cannabisculture has way less ads, and ed rosenthal gives better advice than my man jorge. It deals with alot of political aspects of pot to. which is kinda cool.

Yeah, Cannabis Culture is a FAR better magazine than HT has been in recent years. Intelligent writing, a non-US perspective (CC comes out of Canada), and a sense of ethics (they refuse to run ads for all the "legal weed" ripoffs, unlike HT) make it a much better read than High Times. And their coverage of the political aspects of the drug war is far more important than the fluff in HT, INCLUDING all the bud pictures! Seriously, how many pictures of someone else's stash do people need? :)

That's what I was thinking. I mean, it's nice now and then to drool over such great weed (even though it's depressing that I never have such good shit), but it's much more important to keep up on the socio-political aspects. Looking at pics of bud isn't all that big of a thing for me. I'm just happy when I have some, haha.
