can ever world peace be achieved?...can (for example) Isrealians and palestaniens live in peace together?...can that blood bath (wherever in the world it is) stops for good? What do u think about that?
Yes, world peace is achievable but it would require an influenza pandemic so virulent that it leaves one person alive on earth
I think that it's a human instinct to fight and dominate...we haven't stop that shit since we existed!!...and if we achieved peace it would be broken again and again.
I do think that it can be achieved. I think that if everyone "sweeps thier own doorstep" that the world would be a better place. In other words, if everyone focused on themselves being as peaceful as possible, instead of what others are doing wrong. Sadly, I dont think it will. Our world is to matieralistic, to centered on the making of money. Our wars are fought over Gold, God and Glory. Countries want more and more power, and will do anything to achieve it. And as for religeon, somebody is always going to think what they believe in is better than what somebody else believes in. But, like Jimi Hendrix said "when the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace." (around those lines)
Agreed, we do need more tolerance. But how many devoted Christians aren't going to look down their noses on a homosexual. How many devoted Irish Catholics aren't going to look down thier noses on a Protestant and vice versa. Nobody is going to go against what they have believed in thier entire life. People aren't as open to change when it comes to subjects such as religeon.
But u know what...I think all religions call for tolerance, It's the people who take it in a wrong way I think. There's extremists in every religion. I'm a muslim myself and I can tell you also the same things happen here too. how I hate extremists!!!
No, it can not be achieved. Only in theory, because not everybody will sweep their own doorstep so to speak. It can be minimized and it's worth striving for it. It's better to minimize war than to fall in a world war again of course.
It is a perfect ideal of every person in the world joining hands and never fighting again. But it's an ideal, and although it is worth striving for, I don't believe it will be achievable. It just couldn't sustain itself. Wars are terrible, terrible things, but they will keep happening for as long as the human race lives.
I think we are fortunate enough when we can keep it to a minimum. We (humanity as a whole) are not as smart as we sometimes like to think.
well..I see great people (everyday on documentaries and stuff) trying to do a real difference..really want to do thing..still thinking about what exactly to do
Yes, but that's a minority. If we only had those people in the right place hehe (then we perhaps had a temporarily time of progression). I probably sound pessimistic but I personally feel not too bad about us humans.
I found that community called "Architecture for humanity", I thought it would be greater if i would be able to join in oneday..maybe i'll be able to do a difference....DAYDREAMING...
It is a shame that even though it is quite possible, it will never happen. It is a perfect ideal and theory, world peace. I do have to say though, that there is a chance. Maybe a slim one in a million chance, but there is a chance. I for one, would rather be hopeful than not.
If world peace was attainable we would become stagnant as a species; we would become less competitive, we would lose our drive to succeeded, and perhaps eventually even our will to live Hotwater
I'd say we could achieve 90% peace. Issues like the Isreali and Palestanien question, can be answered eventually, because both sides are talking to each other. We have better mechanisms for nations/people to deal with each other nowadays (The UN The Quartet http://www.allmep.org/ etc). It might end up with small fragmented groups keen to see no peace (Like the "Real IRA"). But the big political/diplomatic difficulties states have to deal with, can be rectified, and the prospect of violent renewal of the problem, lessened or obliterated (Take Northern Ireland for e.g). Because most countries are keen to not repeat history. That'll be "sweeping your own doorstep". What we'll never stop/prevent is terrorist activity, either large Al-Quaeda (or whatever other religious group you care to name) originated/inspired attacks...taking advantage of regional issue - at the moment Iraq/Afghanistan/Somalia. Those people say they seek peace, but only their peace, not a shared peace. Or smaller, regional issues like piracy or drug/gun smuggling. Piracy drug/gun smuggling will probably never go away...but it doesn't affect the world...it just upsets the peace in certain areas, imo. That'll never end because that springs from individuals or smaller groups of individuals...and you'll NEVER engender peace in EVERYBODYS souls. So, we'll never achieve 100% peace, but 90% seems reasonable.
Peace? Things kill eachother, that is nature. If this was not the case, every animal on the planet would be a vegetarian. Peace is unnatural. Accepting and persuing ones end is nature. Why don't you start a campaign on behalf of the white blood cells to call for peace?
