What to do with all the stuff
As if divorce isn’t hard enough
    You take your pain
    and give some too
but what of all the things you knew

Some people always came in pairs
Like sets of candles and shoes we wear
So what do you do when you break up the set
You know you really can’t split up the pets

    So some things get divvied
    And some things get broken
    And what about in-laws
    These rules are un-spoken

    Like Christmas and New Years
    Who comes for desert
    And who sees the kids
    And who get there first

    So throw out some papers
    And keepsakes and things
And handle the rest with some dignity

    Love isn’t for certain
    And nothing is sure
    But love has no logic
    And can’t be ignored

    So open your heart
    For who, what and when
    If it doesn’t work out
    Just try it again
