if you have not already heard they are releasing all the beatles songs in a boxset .. you can buy it either in Mono or in Stereo to go alongside the release of the beatles video game.

you can read more about it here
    http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2009/apr/08/beatles-back-catalogue-remastered-reissued
    and also here
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beatles-Box-Set-Remastered-Stereo/dp/B002BSHWUU
and yanno .. type into google for more information ...

you can buy it for £170 british pounds .. which is well over 250 dollars .. i think ..

what do you beatles fans and none beatles fans think about the release? are you excited? not excited? think its a good thing? think its pointless? voice your opinions

I dont really know about this one ... ive listened to all the beatles albums before and thought they were great .. obviously ... but now im getting told that ive NEVER heard the beatles ... here is some better way to listen to the beatles ... for 170 pounds. lmao.

The mono versions of the albums, until "Magical Mystery Tour," at which point it becomes an alternate mix, blow the stereo away completely!

"Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds", for example, barely sounds psychedelic in stereo. The mono version's vocal phasing and ethereal organ doesn't compare to the lacking stereo version.

Trust me, it's worth it. I'm planning on getting both box sets when I have the money, but if you're on a budget buy the mono box set and then buy "Magical Mystery Tour" through "Let It Be". Or "Abbey Road" and "Let It Be," since they weren't mixed to mono in the first place. (The "Yellow Submarine" soundtrack songs are included on the "Mono Masters" disc of the box set.)

The stereo versions of most of The Beatles' catalogue were just gimmicks that the producers and engineers would mix in a few hours or so without input from The Beatles. John Lennon, George Martin and other people involved have all stated that people haven't heard "Sgt. Pepper's...", for example, unless they've heard the mono version and that real Beatles fans will be wise to seek it out!

Plus, the quality of the previous CD's is subpar compared to the new remasters. From the people who've heard them, it sounds like you're sitting right next to The Beatles! :D

Is this the first thread about the remastered CDs on this forum?!?! Scandalous.

This mini resurgence is like when '1' and the Anthology came out. While I won't be able to get this stuff myself for a while I'm still feeling the excitement.

There'd better be a thread about the Rock Band video game!

    *goes in search*

Have you tried headphones? And how did the remasters already get leaked? They could be fake.

I've heard samples posted on Amazon and the quality difference couldn't be more apparent.
