Just watched it. Really cool flick, its cool to hear from first hand experiences how something came to be. The bike is a Jamis Komodo 3.0
man.. i found a Jamis Komodo 2.0 for $450 awhile back on CL.. if i had the cash i would have scooped it without a doubt
Yeah its a great frame. I just bought a naked 3.0 frame and built it up with the parts I wanted on it so its not an off the showroom komodo by any means but I love the thing.
Got around to finishing this movie.. pretty badass... guess i never realized how much of a counter culture thing MTB was
Yup it was really a happy accident started by a bunch of pot smoking hippies looking to escape into the woods and get baked.
its funny now because Road biking would seem to be more of the secluded underground bike scene.. or maybe its more of the pompus pureist asshole scene.. i dunno
I'll wear spandex on the road bike ha ha, but thats because thats what clothing works best for the situation. I however wont be caught dead on a fixed gear with tiny handlebars, my sisters jeans, a childs t-shirt, my dads reading glasses, and a messenger bag.
thank god there are none of them folks in this town.. only people that ride road bikes here are poor ass college kids with no car.. and the local bike club that i see out and about every now and then
We've got a decent cycling scene of both road and mountain bikers here. It's pretty cool. Its not uncommon for the local bike mailing list I am on to organize weekly group mountain bike rides that will draw 30 or 40 people.
Those torrent sites are the reason many of us never make a second album, film or whatever. Support independent film by buying the film, not stealing it across the internet. Independent usually means the filmmaker up up all the money. As unhip as it sounds, music, films, and art are not free...and you don't get to check out the artwork, liner notes and DVD extras.
