Reminds me of when all the Wahs went to file for food stamps in Roseburg. Everybody had some kind of wacky name. I particularly remember that Greg filed as William (Bill) Ding.

Yeah, old Lou was the master at selling the same piece of property over and over and somehow never granting any equity for opting out. Donald Trump's got nothin' on Louie Rogers. Back then if you walked into the Bank of C'ville for a property loan to buy any part of AV, the only way they would approve it is if Lou said it was okay. And of course he never did, 'cause he never really meant to sell it outright in the first place. At least that's the way it worked when I was there. Funny to think that we're the same age he was then and I don't mean ha-ha funny. He didn't seem old old but he did seem a little old. Hell, I don't see myself that way at all, except when someone calls me sir. I know it's supposed to be respectful but all it does is irritate me.

Hey, Mouse. What has become of Woodpecker? That place is idyllic. BTW, I read Tony's stance on "War Tax". Very ballsy, very admirable.

How you doin' with uploading pics?

Well, Bill, The feds own it now. Funny thing is, that place was obtained with totally legally gotten $, and nothing illegal ever went on there; it was a family scene and that was the "rule". I really can't go into it very much because it hurts alot and I have been admonished by my dear one not to.

That being said folks, I know that most of what is said here is old history but don't think for a moment that "they" ain't reading every word. Part of what I learned about "them" is that they have tons of $ to waste sneaking around watching us, still! As the old saying goes: "just çause I'm paranoid doesn't mean they ain't watching me".

It's amazing and disheartening that even with all the work that guys like J.Tony Serra and his kind do, that many of our brothers & sisters who are honorable people are still rotting in the grey bar, when guys like G.Gordon Liddy, and Oliver North (both convicted [real!] felons), and international war criminals like Dick Cheney and many more of their ilk, are walking free.

Wow Mouse. We're so much on the same wave length here. Similar to when I was in Serbia when Milosevic was overthrown and it was the same vibe. During his time in office the main industry was snitching on your neighbors for profit. No rhyme, no reason, just meant you didn't have to stand in line for milk and bread. And they were selling peoples lives for it. They just flat didn't care about there fellow man. And that's also the neo-con way, same as the hard line dictators, but under the guise of "protection". I fucking hate Cheney and wish him gone. Hey anyone monitoring I said "Gone, not dead". I find it apalling that the far right always finds knee-jerk buzz phrases to counteract any kind of forward movement and their followers blindly agree. Remember when we were kids and JFK paid attention to us? It was incredible and we loved him for it. Now Barack goes for the same approach and he's villified for it. Ike warned us against his own kind and by God he was right. The blind abandoned that so many people here agree with terrifies me. Barack could say the sun comes up in the morning and somebody somewhere would disagree enough venom to kill the population of a small town. I'm ranting but Obama has taken on a massive task. He should be made aware of Steven, the man who, in English, could come to a compromise and agreeable terms.

    Hey, Dude,
Stacey here, got your email from someone, Ranger or maybe Wendy. Been emailing Dana. It's been a long time. Sounds like yuh'al ran into the locale "red necks. I work in the domistic arena, homelessness and poverty. The system has what it calls "transitional housing." We called them "crash pads." Here in Broward County we've got 4 to 15, thousand homeless, dependeing on which organizations count you accept, with only 2 thousand beds, and Broward's suport system is one of the best in the country. LA has 50,000 homeless.

Throw the whole bunch out-- their all in cahoots, just arguing among themselves over who is going to divide the spoils.

I get a kick out of people who think there is a difference between the two. It really started with Clinton and the GOP Congress. Bush was the set-up-man with the first stimilus package. We all need to pay close attention to the future
here is any real alternative. I'm worried about our domistic situation-- there are to many of us there needs to be a culling of the heard. As always it a question of who is doing the culling. There are not too many people I would trust or follow

Anyway, I don't want to talk about politics. I would like to hear who is around. Have you seen Bonnie, or the lady who ran the Garden Shop, Carolyn and her passel of kids.

I was in SF last August 2008-- had no way of contacting anyone--- wish I had known about Hip Forum then. Hung out with Rene, Calvin, ande Tom McCarthy. I don't know who might remember them or care what's happening in other parts of our Fifdom.

Take care its greaqt being back in touch with family and the people I care about.

It's all about the New World Order: POWER+MONEY=GREED; oil, weapons and drugs. Throw in a little sex and you've got it. Don't forget to detox every once and a while to get rid of the effects of chemtrails. I'm not kidding. I hope the sustainability movement can gain more momentem and help to make some substantive changes. I feel a 60's revival coming on.

Whatchin' they may be.. but whatever any of us did back then, the statutes have run out on a long time ago.. we actually did good for the neighborhood, we built it up instead of tearing it down...I dont think they are too worried over a hand full of aging hippies..They figure that either hep-C will get us or heart disease will take us out.. they have bigger fish to fry with all the meth labs and ganstras and contras boilling over into our melting pot.

I dont think any of us want to burn down the government, but change it from within.

I know that most of the country folk are preparing for the wrost, stocking up on staples, water, can goods, ammo, planting gardens and canning what they grow, just doing a little extra to put aside for a rainy day.

It's time to get out of the cities or at least have a place to go that is out of the main streem... wow.. I'm not paranoid.. really :p

You're right WB. We paid Uncle Lou plenty of money and got no equity. Risa and I were able to buy 5 acres (Second House, half of the pond and some marginal ground for gardening). We got the house/land for $5,000 ($1,000 per acre)! We sold it to Max and Frannie for $10,000 (we made some improvements to the property).

As I recall, we had every intention of buying the Ranch (Ash Valley). Remember the "Dirty Dozen?" I don't know if Steven remembers the details, but I think the deal was that the Good Earth would take over the payments (any down payment?) from the "Family" (Bruce, Larry-the-Lip, Kevin, Tan Dan, etc.) and then Larry et al would get one of the GE houses in SF (right?). It was a noble effort. I think we made the payments for a while (welfare checks mostly) and then it was fish or cut bait. Louie wanted his money and we could barely make the payments. He gave us a way out - pay rent and work for him. Dennis became the foreman - Louie's right hand man and we worked in the woods (Richard Wilson was the beginning).

WB - remember when the Sernack's bought the Goat Barn and closed off the trail to your cabin across the creek?

Ryland; after 1 season in NFL Europe and 6 seasons in CFL (the Zack Thomas of Canadian Football) he now teaches special needs kids and Coaches his old H.S. football team. They are Pre season ranked #2 in the San Diego Area.

Caleb: After quiting School to work for my Company he become the youngest (and best )Automated Lighting tech and operator Doing tours Like Alanis Morrsette (Jaged little pill) Nine inch Nails, Dylan and Phish, took our stuff, Touring all over the world (never made it to Sereaveo WB but almost every other country in Europe) He told me that he wanted to start his own thing and he now employs Sheila and has his own Company that employes folks as they get out of the Grey Bar and into Half way houses Teaches them Computer marketing skills..Teaches them how to sell direct TV of all things!!!. I cannot figure out how he got into that....maybe it was a way to help out folks he knew who needed help to stay free if you know what I mean. He and I are hanging a lot again like when we were kids we both were living with other when it all sorta began. We just came back from Molokai and I swear we were yaking about memories of everyone here!! And also about the fact that like others have pointed out @##holes seem to always be watching our lives from afar. They must be real jelious (&$% with nothing better to do than harrass good people. But this is a joyful place and I feel blessed to have found it!

No, Spud, The very first US Forest Service contract we did was signed by "The Reverend R. J. Mouseman". You might remember; it was solid poison oak :eek:and nobody else would bid on it. Even Whitey worked on that one!:D

It's real interesting to finally hear where that crap then known as "psychic energizer" came from. It obviously had real bad karma from the get. No, I never bought any of it (or anything else) from Sam. I was not into nose candy at all back then, it didn't ring my bell. Neither did Jerry. Jerry, whom I loved dearly, had sworn off all psychedelics. We used to spend long hours in the first art workshop in the basement of the green house on Page Street with Cyril, Linda, and others; even Sleaze John (Spud, that "Gilbert" collage was done there by Sleaze!). It was xmas eve, we were up at the Woodland house setting up Christmas for the kids i.e. tree, gifts etc, with Leo Ron, Kitten, Darryl and Jerry and the folks from that house. Everything was done and we were all pretty smoked out and had been drinking beers etc. Chaquis & I were headed out the door to walk down the hill to Lower Cole when Jerry came up to me to wish me a merry Christmas, and offered me a hit on his bottle of wine. I took 1 hit gave him a Christmas hug and left. I hadn't gotten to the end of the block when I felt like a Mac truck had hit me. If it wasn't for Chaquis I would not have made it home. I could not see, all my senses had gone wild. Chaquis kept jumping into my chest and dragging me by the shirt or pant leg. I fought against that stuff for all I was worth. I had to crawl because my legs wouldn't work. I remember seeing my red Pendleton blanket and I knew I had made it. I was able to let go and I felt like a million G forces were on me as my mind and body were wrenched to a very difficult place. In the morning I was totally fried and VERY angry. I believe it was Dana who I asked to find out who had done that to me. She asked me what I was going to do: I said I was going to kill them. I had not yet heard about Jerry who had made his way to GG park and sat in a lotus position in the fountain that has the large statue of a sabre tooth tiger fighting a huge boa; how appropriate. Nobody would tell me that Kid & Ted thought it would be cute to tweak Jerry who had sworn off Psychedelics. They mega dosed his wine.
Years later I went to that fountain with my bag pipes and said a long prayer for Jerry my brother.

I stand corrected on how you and Jerry got dosed that night, Mouse. I just knew that you had, because you and I saw each other that night, remember? What a cruel "joke" to play on someone. Chaquis actually helped me get through it as well. And Jane, too, God love her. She was about do a line but stopped when she saw me buckle at the door. She came over and asked if I was okay. I told her I didn't think so, that I think I was going to need some kind of downers and I knew Cass has some. We went outside and she walked me to 1915 and I sat on the steps while she to find Cass. She came back later and gave me two pills. I took them and about 20 minutes later I started feeling a little better. Still way fucked up, but better. A couple of days later I asked her what those pills were. Vitamins! She couldn't find Cass so she counted on the power of suggestion to help me out.

Thanks, Mouse. Now I remember. Vern, from the Tiller Ranger District, asked if we wanted to bid on that job. I think it was up Boulder Creek and brushy as hell. I do remember Whitey fighting to get through the brush to plant a tree.

To this day I still believe in my heart that no man or woman whom you love will ever benifit from being "DOSED". Putting the spirt of a loved one in a place that they are not aware of and doing this with full knowledge on your part is the ultamate power trip. It is wrong. Of course thisis my opinion only and this is what I have told my children!

I never told you but it was you who turned me on to Leonard Cohen. For that I am in your debt. May be a small thing to some but it meant and means a lot to me.

Howdy Darel, Glad ya made it in.

I'm gonna have to deactivate the live url.. I hope you dont mind, but it is against the site's guidelines to take traffic away from here to another website. If however the url partains to the subject matter of the topic of conversation as a reference it is allowed. You didn't know so it's cool.. I'll take care of it. You can say yahoo or facebook , like saying,' you can find me on facebook or yahoo', ect.

    Welcome at anyrate

Hey Y'all, this is a huge website with a substantual amount of information on nearly any subject you could think of. It's basically full of intellegent ppl, and some not as evolved ;) But all in all a good place.

When ya get a chance check it out. You can even start a journal/blog of your own, or open a shop or teach a class in the free school, or just chat it up with old and new friends in the chatroom.

I have a feeling that this is a beautiful experience we are embarking on, all of us coming together here n now, a lot of us are showing up one after another, it's like the dam has burst and nothing can contain us, we are flooding in.

There must be something on the rise, we are gathering again, like the 60s/70s.. shinning the same lovelight. Are we preparing for something on another level. Is it time to kick it up a notch once again. It makes ya think.

well so much for thinking, let's.. roll another one, just like the other one.
