Travis Morrison was at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood just yesterday! Um, I like the old stuff mostly: Doors, Led Zepplin, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd. As far as the new, I like: Rooney, Phantom Planet, Interpol (who are playing tonight and tomorrow at the Wiltern in LA-sold out), The Thrills, hm who else? I guess those are the standouts for now.

 

I love the name of that venue, don't really know why.

I've been recommended to Interpol a few times, not sure whether I like them or not though. If I was at an indie club and drunk enough to want to dance, they'd be perfect, but generally I listen to my music lying down in my room on my own, and can't imagine I'd ever listen to them like that.

They're still better than the fucking Rapture though.

Part of the whole "disco punk" thing, alongside LCD Soundsystem and !!!. They did "House of Jealous Lovers". I think it's a NY scene, not sure though. You haven't really missed out on much.

 

Yeah. However, there's not many local bands here I care for too much either.

 

Yeah, I can imagine. Heard the California scene is really shite, cuz everyone's desperate to get discovered. Dunno if it's true, but I can imagine it must be quite irritating.
