lol, my probation officer asked me if i was Jamaican... i said no and he asked me "what my deal is?" because apparently he saw me reading Malcom X and I have dreadlocks. i was like, no i wasn't reading Malcom X that was Ayn Rand(the two aren't even close!!wtf). he's really ignorant...

later he asked me what my major is... i said graphic design and he said "that'll be good money once you start designing buildings." lol.


in the court system its all about appearances, apparently my apparent appearance is baffling.

 

i was walking to probation yesterday (my po hasnt acknolodged noticing my hair, but everybody else in the office makes a big deal about it, but he is also old and senile)
but anyway, on my way there, i walked past this REALLY old man with badge tee shirt and a hat that announced that he was the parking official. he turned the corner and smiled and said hi, then i said hi back. THEN he realized my dreads and that my sandals were made of rope.... god damned hippy!!!! his face imediately changed to pure terror (literally) and you could tell he regretted being so nice to me. this guy literally slinked around corners watching me the way to probation, then he followed me all the way back to the bus stop after i got out. i think he was making sure i didnt commit any shinanigans in his town.

Both my husband and I have dreads and we usually don't see too many caucasian people with dreads around us - only if we go to concerts. My husband and I are kinda hermits too....

 

I prefer spying on people from my bedroom window, thank you.
