About a decade ago I came down with a kidney stone attack. The nurse in the emergency room came in and told me the pain was about to go away and gave me a shot of dilaudid into my IV tube. While I very much appreciated the fact that the worst pain I have ever felt was completely gone in about one second, I did not like the way it made me feel at all. It occurred to me that I felt exactly the same way if I work for fourteen of fifteen hours straight, under great stress without taking a break, without eating and without remembering to even drink some water. So my question is, why would anyone want to feel like that?
maybe because your a freak of nature when it comes to dilaudid... or maybe because it was too much and your tolerence was too low... or maybe because of the fact that you were having a kidney stone attack and dilaudid cant take away all your pain, resulting in you feeling better, but obviously not the best.
lol... this isnt unheard of guys. i know alot of ppl that HATE the feeling of opiates. its just not for some ppl.
Hydromorphone isn't all that enjoyable compared to most opiates. It just kind of knocks you out in IV form and hardly does jack shit in pill form, no euphoria or lasting pleasant effect.
Seems like everyone loves it. The fact that you were in real pain though is most likely why. Like StonedAge said, it took away some of the pain but doesnt make everything perfect.
