I have been a strong advocate for the decriminalization of marijuana for quite a long time now. If anything, for the use in medical problems. Believe me, with all the disabilities I have, it has been a big help. At the moment, I am in the process of having to prove to Maryland officials the reasons why I use weed to help me cope with my failing health. This is a difficult and costly defense. Those who are unlucky enough to have to defend using a medication that may not/ can not be prescribed by their doctor because of these foolish laws, are made to go through a process that can only have negative effects on their health. Those who don't have any kind of medical degree, are telling those of us who use marijuana for medical reasons, what is best for us. This tells me that there is something really wrong with the system. How can some states understand and permit the use of medical marijuana, while other states still refuse to come into the 21st century. If the reasons for my using pot are recognized and allowed in one state, should they not be the same in every state? Our lawmakers don't take our campaign seriously, thinking we are such a small minority, we need to show them that our cause is just as important as all those self-interest causes that they put ahead of their constituents well being. We have to show these clowns that we are very serious about this issue, and we will hold them accountable for their lack of interest in an issue that touches a lot more people than they think. I am constantly writing to all the politicians in the federal and state governments, showing them the numbers and detailing the billions that could be saved if marijuana were legal. We are not being heard or taken seriously because we are too passive about the issue. It's time to question how one state can allow medical marijuana use, yet the state next door still prosecutes for the same thing. I don't know about any one else, but I was born at night, not last night. If we all decide to make our voice one, we can't be ignored.eace:
