SWIM is extracting N,N-DMT from MHRB powder using this tek http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/6931010/an/0/page/3 Ingredients were 1 liter of water + 100grams of NaOH (prepared first) then 225grams of MHRB powder let that sit for 1 hour then added 300ml of VM&P naptha stirred for 30 min. Now its sitting waiting for the naptha to rise to the top so it can be pulled off. It's been 30min and it is still completely mixed together (black tar looking consistency) no signs of separation. What could be done to speed seperation? Could one gently heat it?
It did not evaporate as fast as .it separated. IDK what you did, but I guarantee that wasn't the problem. Shine a light through it and see if you see layers.
I've never had this problem....but once I heard you could put it on a drier or washing machine and the vibration will help get rid of emulsion.
yea I guess it may have been mixed too strongly. Will try setting it on the dryer tonight, several loads need to be done anyway. Will an emulsion separate over time if left to sit?
UPDATE* ok it was indeed an emulsion, it was divided it into clear jars and no separation could be seen well after 24 hours. So more lye was added, within 30 minutes there was noticeable separation, complete separation within a few hours. The naptha was pulled off with a baster, and put into smaller clear jars (the naptha had a yellow hue) and put in the freezer for 24 hours. No crystal growth whatsoever, guess the freezer just isn't stong enough to do the job. Attempted evaporation with naptha in a glass pan. All noticeable liquid is gone but it isnt crystalizing, instead its formed a thin resinous layer that is the consistency of maple syrup and a golden color. Its been in this resinous form for more hours then it took to evap it down to its current state.
Something definitely went really wrong......maybe not enough lye at the start. (If things are clean, the naptha should really be clear.) You may be able to re-crystallize the goo, but I think that's mostly for impure crystals....but maybe: http://www.dmt-nexus.com/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=152 It's worked well when there was some yellow sticky stuff mixed with the crystals once. Anyway....this is a good tek: http://www.entheogen.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8389 This has worked a few times really well....by someone who isn't good at this kind of stuff. It's has the one added step of using vinegar water to get the stuff out of the powder first, and discarding the goop from the red vinegar water which holds the DMT. I think since you remove the plant material, you get a much cleaner result. But I know a lot of people do well with lazymans, so who knows.
I'm thinking that you have far too little lye...for 225 g of mhrb I would use 225 g lye and over 3 litres of water...and I would get approx 2.2 gs of pure white xtals.you dont have sufficient lye to break the cell walls.
yea swim added lye which broke the emulsion then let it sit awhile then attempted the extraction again. Swim got a pretty good yield in the end actually 2+ grams of product although it was of the yellow waxy variety. After a few smoke sessions swim and all his friends think this is the best substance ever. The warm feeling and the absolutely amazing visuals really make this treat like no other. Its like getting shot out of a massive cannon into space through the fucking sun and then out into the stars and the whole time your getting a full body blow job.
yea I know, Im starting slow. The power of this stuff is undeniable and Id rather work my way up to breakthrough dosages. It really is quite amazing :cheers2:

SWIM as well is going to have some of that B Caapi. Was wondering if the same method could be used on it. IT should work on all DM* containing plants right? Or could have to be tweaked..
