My friend and I are really into the music of the 60's and so on, but we always clash heads on these same two musicians of that era. He thinks that The Beatles were the best of that era but i think Jimi Hendrix was thee best. What group do you think is better?
TOTALY OFF TOPIC!!... lol , but hendrix and the dead were by far thee best of the 60's. duznt get much better.
Yes! i totally agree, im not saying the Beatles were bad or anything i love. i just think Hendrix was a beast
Another Question i have is do you think Hendrix did Acid? according to some biography no one ever saw him actually take it
I was told that he like cut his head and put acid in his cuts and like put something over his cuts, But i really don't know how true that is or whatnot.
that is the cutest little rabbit ive ever seen... lol about hendrix, i guess the only way i will ever know is when i get to use that time machine!:toetap05:
:iagree: haha that or think what you want to think and ... thats right cause who is gonna tell you now
of course hendrix took acid lol. i mean how could he do what he did without lucy! he's the freaking vodoo child. i don't know. so many great influences from that era. velvet underground... the doors... but i guess hendrix was definitely up there with the best of them. but i'd have to say that velvet underground definitely has the most influence in todays music. i mean you have the brain jonestown massacre, the dandy warhols, and dozens of other similar bands that just absolutely wouldn't be the same without their influence. edit- except maybe the dead. but they kind of affected the world in different ways.
All in all i think music in that era was something that changed the world. we do need another woodstock!
every generation has a chance to change the world. it frustrates me that so many people have such a 60s fetish. in many ways the world we live in today has much more potential. i think all of those people that are so obssesed with the 60s need to stop jacking off to the past and make their own destiny. we'll never have another woodstock. that was just a one time thing. but what we do have, is dozens of awsome festivals! woodstock kinda just broke down into all of the festivals we have today.
Hempfest over here in Seattle is always a blast! Smoking outside with giant amounts of people, great food, & music. I would choose Hendrix over the Beatles for sure, but over all I would choose either the Doors or Pink Floyd
^^ Hawaiian lol... I don't know how many people I've heard ask me if Jimmy did acid. Well what would you think, I mean have you ever listened to his music? It's not like it's a secret. It's written all over his music... First album is so-so, but the second and third are really good. About that 60's stuff... Well everything was different in the 60's. The world does have more potential, but that is both a good and bad thing. Every little thing you do in America, there is going to be somebody to criticize and jump on your case and stop you. As we can see this potential can sway both ways: good for you, good for the officer who flies over your pot farm in an expensive helicopter... who is now getting a big payraise... The 60's are done. Lsd will not be as plentiful for a good while, music will not be the way it was, and the green grasses are different. But I'll tell you what: I'd bet money that within ten years a new chemist appears or something; and that potential we talked about earlier, well there is the potential to grow your own original haze ganja and to pick up an instrument. It's as easy as pulling your face out of a screen. --That's the other thing. The way people communicate is different. Nobody (being 'a lot of people under 20') wants to hold a conversation anymore, they only care to text message their friends who are a few feet away. The main fantasy people have of the 60's involves the lsd, because apparantly so many (young) people were dropping acid and smoking the herb... And then communicating and persuing their ideas... The only difference between now, and the 60's, is the availability of lsd, the way people view lsd, and people's motivation to persue their ideas. The 60's was just a time. I believe that if those three things were to change to how they were in the 60's, well... the "60's would be back", lol
