Dear Old Hippies/ I'm 19 years old from Egypt..I never knew what was the Hippies revolution of the 60's exactly about, but I tried to read more about the topic.and (surprisingly for me!!!) I found that most of the main concepts of the Hippies considering world peace & tolerance are alike to what i always used to think of. I live in the middle east, a place torn away with political and religious disputes and stained with blood from wars. Actually most of the people became full of hatred, and totally forgot their role in the dying Earth and towards their environment. I really wanted to join here as a newcomer to that world of peace and tolerance, and really wanna share many thoughts with people who would hopefully understand me.BUT I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO HERE AND FROM WHERE TO BEGIN..I'M KINDA LOST AND CONFUSED!! so any help would be very appreciated.
Hi Alysamir I was kid of the 70's and 80's and love the history of the Hippies. My mom was a hippy, I remember going to potlucks, singing rally's and protests. Read Hippy forums and get familier with the culture and who the old hippies are that post. At UofL literature conferences I got to see Ken Kesey and Allan Ginsberg talk and perform. Search for Rainbow Family of Living Light in Egypt. I think there's a family there. Peace, Love and Hippiness
