Im tripped mushrooms over 10-12 times in the past 6 months. My trips have gone from intense to just a slight change in consciousness with varying dosages of a half half eighth to an eighth. My psychedelic drug experience includes LSD, DMT, 2-cb, MDMA, Shrooms, weed, DXM and mescaline (may be my favorite :) )

Last week I smoked DMT for the first time and tripped shrooms 2 and a half hours later, I ate an entire eighth. The shroom trip was uninspired to say the least. There was the consciousness shift but no visual alterations were remotely present.

I used to be a self valued psychonaut, but recently in regards to mushrooms, my head has been left empty. It feels like my brain simply has gotten used to it.

It could be any number of things. Weak shrooms, too much of it, etc. But i was looking for some of your opinions.

Ive heard piracetam can be of great help but I cant get my hands on it in MN at any store, and believe me I've tried all the health food stores in the metro area. I can buy it off the internet but my problems lies herein. My friends want to trip tonight since school starts next monday and they have been wanting to do them for a while. Is there any mental preperation i could go through? or would abstaining be the best. if you want any more info ask. thanks!

Our bodies become very tolerant to psylocibin in mushrooms very fast.
If you tripped on 2 grams one day, and 3 grams the next, you would barely trip as if you've eaten 1 gram that day.

And eating mushrooms long term will just keep increasing the dose you need to get high faster than you think.

I recommend tripping once a week if you always want that first high you got. And theirs not mental preparation you can do to lower your tolerance. It's not in your head, it's in your immune system.

I havn't tripped 2 days in a row except for one time and the head trip was a actually a little scary. So i dont think thats the problem. Im curious as to what you mean by this tho.

Once a week? Goddamn, buddy, that's kind of a lot, don't you think? I keep mine to a few times a year nowadays.

No, it's definitely in your head. Nothing at all to do with your immune system.

As for the OP, it sounds like you've just been doing it too much. You're averaging once every 2 weeks. That is definite abuse, and mushrooms don't like abuse. Give them a little more respect and you'll get more out of it. Or maybe you have just been getting shitty mushrooms.

I've tripped on shrooms 5 times this year and they've all been pretty intense.

I do believe there's a bit of a cross-tolerance between mushrooms, LSD, and DMT also, which could also possibly explain why the last time was rather weak.

it was definitely just a bad batch. I tripped friday on 5 grams. I had a wonderful experience. I forgave myself for having done something and was told to wait for something to happen. I spoke with an entity I called earth mother which sounds kinda cheesy but I felt like for the second time in my life i was channeling. I then wretched for a while without throwing up and saw horrible visions, including some involving my low self esteem, failed relationships, and eating disorder memories and was finally able to forgive myself for them. it was definitely the best trip ive had.
