Ever tried to do stuff like open a MS spreadsheet in Google Docs and it doesnt even load, or load properly

And there are other instances of Googles online stuff

If they cant get stuff like that working how much confidence do you have that Google OS is going to come out largely issue free?

As I see it, all we can do from here is hope there engineers get there shit together and get it working, but from right now it looks like we are still a long way from a true web OS.

There is no such thing as an OS without issues. I hadn't even heard of this until now, but I hope it becomes a viable alternative. Windows sucks too much, Linux is too techy, and Apple is too pretentious and wanky.

I've used Zoho but I'll admit it isn't perfect at compatibility, far from it.

I think I'm going to replace Ubuntu with Google OS when it comes out, but more as an experiment. I need windows as my primary OS unfortunately.

No ones hoping for an OS without issues, just an OS that will function. And if they do manage it hopefully they'll have added in some killer new features no company has tried yet.

Explain TheMagneticHeadache, why is Google producing an OS such a bad thing?
They make some awesome internet wonders and have thus far acted as a good company working to change the internet.

Sorry to go off topic a little (This post was asleep for a few weeks anyhow) - This has nothing to do with Google OS but with their search engine - which comes standard on many ISP, or at least with Earthlink. And, you all know I am not a techy, I drive whatever the computer maker puts under the hood.

I occasionally Google my (real) name to see what is out on the Web. At work we have something called Goodsearch and I noticed they had more hits of just my name - about 8 pages, whereas Google has a couple pages and intersperses with a close name, some old Baptist preacher named Robert C. Boyte Howell (only one of those words is my name).

Today I Googled Yahoo Search (gotta be ironic heh?) and when I "Yahood" my name it came up with the 8 pages of my stuff on the Internet.

So, why is Google, the brand name associated with search engines the suckiest one I've encountered? Did they just give up on that feature to concentrate on OS?

There's no need of a Google OS, or any more at all. Windows will always win for compatibility, and if you want an OS that actually works, there's always been Linux. Any new OS would be a waste of time at this point.

Google OS is based on the Linux kernel.

Okay, so it's basically a new Linux distro. Not worth the money with all the great flavors that exist already.
