I've heard of so many people having terrifying nightmares but I haven't had a nightmare since I was twelve. 100% of the dreams I can remember are extremely positive and have me saying "Aww shit" when I wake up.

I'm not saying I want a nightmare but I'm curious as to why I never have them.

People tell me that they are from stress but I've been very stressed out recently (Broke, college, blahblahblah, government keeping me down man, things poor kids worry about, family dying, not enough poon). Hell, I was even seriously depressed for awhile. However, throughout the entire time I never had one nightmare.

Other people say those that have been through traumatic experiences usually experience them.

Can anyone shed some light on why I've escaped a crappy part of normality? Majority of dreams I remember are about drugs+models (always a good combo).

I never really have nightmares either. It's usually one of two possible scenarios - 1) It doesn't make enough sense to have a theme at all, or 2) It's really positive and I thoroughly enjoy the experience.

    Hell, I'm not complaining ;)

I don't have nightmares like I did as a child. Back then it was always monsters. Anymore I get somewhat realistic nightmares like being in the passenger seat of a car being driven by a friend who is wasted, or seeing a friend die or something. The common theme seems to be my lack of control.

the closest thing to a nightmare i sometimes have is in dream frustration. even that doesn't happen very often.

i know when my bad dreams stopped and why.
to put it in super compressed form, i loved a monster back to health and wholeness.

it took a lot of q-tips and rubbing alcohol and stick to it ive ness.

i had this dream when i was still very young. i think i was only in the second grade. somewhere around, i guess that would be age seven.

I think that when we have nightmares, at least sometimes it means that we're not facing some really weird stuff we should be dealing with. If we avoid bad stuff in waking life, maybe it comes out in nightmares.

If you're going through tough times and facing them head on, then you don't need a nightmare to make you face it and that is why you don't have nightmares.
