One of the top two or three American songwriters since the rock and roll era. I could never get into his singing, though. I went to a concert some years ago ... couldn't understand a word he sang. Which is too bad, cause they're great words.
Great songwriter. Although if he had ever used more than 5 chords in his career his songs would have been a little more interesting. Or different from one another. Still great songs though.
man who cares about his guitar skills being perfect when he's playing the harmonica like that and the keyboard... and that voice :drool5:
Bob Dylan had few, if any equals, as a lyricist, and remains a huge influence on rock music to this day. I have just recently come to appreciate the awesome storytelling power that this man has been gifted with. If he had not been a singer/song-writer, he could have been equally great as a poet or novelist.
bob dylan to me is the best there is. He changed the way i view music and hes one of those rare originals. His lyrical genious makes him even more awesome. haha and (like raz5) he is also the love of my life. He was pretty hott
Oh dear Raz, you know how i feel about him. I'm not gonna fight over him with you though, we gotta come to some sort of arrangement. Did you know, 2 days ago, i dreamt of the man? As an old man too. We were at the movies, and we were watching behind the mirror, his latest newport documentary. He asked me, for Graham crackers because the popcorn hurt his teeth. Wow. I was like "Bobby, look at you back then, you were so badass, now you're complaining that popcorn hurts your teeth?" And he laughed. and i laughed. wow. I am obsessed. Also, his video at the new port folk fest in the 60s, its on youtube his one clip for mr tambourine man. I cry. Everytime. I hear it. God. And his ONLY SEMI good looking kid in the wallflowers, sounds kinda like him, but he looks like half alien. Fuck. My. Life. I wish he could just get younger again.
I play guitar (badly) and about 60% of the songs I sing are Dylan tunes. His words just sink in and rattle around and make me think of different things and always stay fresh even when I don't know what they mean.
Yeah, not the best concert I ever went to. I've heard he can be really good as well. On that night, though, it seemed like he was just playing to himself. I don't regret going to see a legend. He is one of my top, top faves.
