Gay guy's view on promiscuity

This is a question for gay guys. With straight men, having sex with lots of women is something they brag about. But with straight women, having sex with lots of guys is looked down on.
So what's the case with gay guys? Is promiscuity something that gays generally brag about or look down on?

 

If gay guys are promiscous, they will tend to keep silent about it, its a like a math problem, for if they are promiscuous its mostly not with other gay guys, there arent enough of us

 

This is largely a situational matter.

If you are having drinks with your buddies, you may tend to brag about your scoreboard achievements, possibly with some overkill built in. The str8 dudes are no different. The sublime message is always the same, "When it comes to getting my rocks off, I rule."

If you are dating a guy with the prospect of a monogamous relationship in the air, you are more likely to downplay your promiscous past. A guy running around with his zipper open or with his pants down does not make a good monogamous BF material, does he? The str8 dudes are no different here. Few brag about their massive past conquests before their fiances for the very same reason.

When it comes to general mores as opposed to personal affairs, hardly any female will theoretically be interested in a guy who was turned down by all the other girls. (There had to be something wrong with him, right?) So, male bragging on a general level is a part of the mating game for the males.

When it comes to the females, the situation is completely different. A 'slut' girl is hardly a desirable partner choice for any serious male, since the implication of her sexual behavior is that she may continue to mate on the side, and have him pay for raising other people's children.
