it looks good... i've never really liked the original, but i think i'll like this one because i've enjoyed all the tim burton movies i've seen so far, and johnny *is* in it...
    the poster is really sweet.

I think Johnny Depp is perfect as Willy Wonka, he's superb at playing eccentric characters, Capt Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribeann being a recent prime example of this. He has also worked very well with Burton (who is a fantastic director) before in Ed Wood and Edward Scissorhands. I know normally remakes are shit and are generally just to cash in, but I think this one would well surpass the first. Is that July release for that states? Any idea whe it'll be out in Europe?

Do they I thought they cam out over there first, I remember Star Wars Ep 1 was out there ages before it came out over here, I know though with some of the Matrix ones they went with a simultaneous (sp?) release dates to avoid piracy etc.

i think the british release at least will about a month after the US release...that's usually the way they do it...

i saw some of the concept sketches that came out a while ago...and the oompa loompas are just ace...they're exactly how you'd imaine tim burton would visulaise them...

i can't wait to see what the kids are like...

I dunno... I've never been a fan of Burtons movies. Must I remind you of Planet of the Apes?

that was just one tho...i can't think of a single bad film he's done apart from that...every director has one bad film...

    Edward scissorhands
    the nightmare before xmas
    ed wood
    big fish
    beetlejuice
    batman
    batman returns

they're the only ones i've seen and he has done a lot more but i don't think theres a single bad film in there...

I definitely do not think that I will like it as much as the original. I can't imagine anyone other than Gene Wilder playing Willy Wonka.
